I want to see the GIF where Foster was signalling a play where he was giving the "F" off hand signal and holding an index finger at the same time. I have an idea of what to use it for. Heh heh.

Jumping in this thread...

I do not think we will ever see the 2011 Logan "Miami Game" Thomas again, but last night came pretty close. I consider myself a defender of Thomas because he is team-first and could have gone pro, instead of he decided the team needed him more, and he needed to get better. So here we are.

Logan may not replicate the 24/25 passing in the game, but damn, he came close 19/25, and ZERO INTERCEPTION! Then he played after being limited in practice last week and perform like this?

Whatever the Hokies are feeding the man, DON'T STOP FEED HIM!

Heard a rumor from a very reliable non source that DPM was incensed that he was not moved to offensive tackle he could not take anymore of playing TE and decided instead to make it his life's mission and seek out the real reason Sam made his family drop the D from it's name!

Today's the last day to donate! My brother plays on the team--it's a great cause. If you want to support a player--donate towards Joseph B. :)

One thing I noticed last night about our defensive line, other than Derrick Hopkins anchoring the defensive line, was how violently they shed blocks. Gayle, Nicholas, Wilson, Maddy, and even Hopkins were just being violent. To be able to do that after the triple overtime feat against Marshall in the rain, and to shut down the option is nothing short of miraculous.

Know what? After being so pessimistic all week about Virginia Tech's chance in this game, I am happy to eat the crow pie.

Sorry Dude, you missed it. This thing was going one direction and you took it another.

Nvm, just saw a news article about it, says EA has announced they're dropping it for at least next year. I'd still be willing to bet that it'll be back in 2015 in some form or another, there is too much money in play.

We've already discussed the issue before. EA sports will almost certainly still come out with a game next summer, possibly called "College Football 15" or similar. It won't have the NCAA logo or any direct references to the NCAA organization, and there are rumors of a handful of individual conferences pulling out, but most conferences and teams will likely still license out their names. While there will be minor differences, including a few less teams and possibly some fictional conferences and bowl games, it'll still be functionally the same game.

My mother moved to Virginia when she was about 12. She was the first of her five other siblings to get accepted to, go, and graduate from college. While visiting campuses when her older sister was applying to schools, she saw Virginia Tech's campus and never looked back. Her younger sister followed her to Virginia Tech. My older sister followed in their footsteps, and I too followed suit. However, we each made our Virginia Tech experience our own. They all got degrees in business, chemistry, and wildlife science respectively. I chose Virginia Tech for its budding art program and animation aspects because I'd like to animate for a studio someday. I didn't want to go to a little school and I didn't want to go to a school terribly close to home. I wanted the traditional four-year college experience. Needless to say, my family and I still get together in Blacksburg frequently.

As a distant second to the Hokies, I like the Redskins, Capitals, DC United, and the Orioles. I also like animating and Captain Morgan..sometimes at the same time.

For those who have passed. For those to come...
Reach For Excellence

unlike some other conferences, whose members soak up beer revenue, the SEC has banned alcohol sales to the public in its stadiums.

Ummmm - what conference still allows beer sales in the stadiums and how do we join?

Virginia Tech, It's In My Blood

Mine is another father/daughter story. After serving in the Navy in Guam during WWII, my dad returned to Virginia and graduated from VPI&SU in 1949. On my parents' first date, Mom said that Dad really warmed up to her after he found out that her brother had gone to Tech. At the end of their honeymoon in 1954, Dad was happy to be home so that he could catch the first football game of the season. As a young child, I was jealous every fall when my parents joined four other couples for their annual pilgrimage to Blacksburg. When we finally got old enough to go to a game, I thought that it was the most exciting thing sitting on those old wooden benches in Lane! Not much of an athlete myself (pre Title IX), I nonetheless starting reading SI while in high school and tried to soak up what I could, especially about the Hokies. While still in high school, I even went to the 1974 VT season opener with my dad, my best friend's father and her brother--a long day trip from Richmond, but so much fun!

I loved Virginia Tech and still do. However, my sister who is a year older than I am went to Tech and I visited her every quarter of her freshman yr/my high school sr yr. Tech became so familiar to me that I could give directions while on campus, and much to my sister's chagrin, I recognized Tech's president while we waited in line at the Farmhouse while she did not. I wanted college to be about stretching myself and the unfamiliar, so I ended up going to W&M which worked out great for me, but I still loved visiting my sister and best friend while they were at Tech.

Fast forward through a decade plus of career growth, travel, and out of the area living, and I finally caught up to the Hokies as they were coming into national focus. Mostly, I loved talking to my Dad about the games, the coaches, players, etc. Yes, there is nothing sweeter than sharing a game with your father. Cherish them while you can! During the 2000 NC game, I surprised my dad by flying from Massachusetts where I live so that I could watch it with him in his den in Richmond (I would have taken him to the game, but he preferred to watch it from home).

Dad became ill in late 2008, and my sister said that while he was in the hospital she was surprised when they drew blood that it was red instead of orange and maroon. Dad died in May 2009 (and Mom followed last April). To honor them both, earlier this year my sister, brother, and I spread some of Dad's ashes across the 50 yd line in Lane Stadium (I will take the 5th if anyone asks how we pulled this off). We are happy knowing that Dad now has the best seat in the house when his beloved Hokies play!

Yeah, it's awful there. Everyone's so negative and bitter to each other, players, and coaches.

I love you guys and TKP.
