I would very much like to know the context of that last gif
More proof of French's point that DEs might make prettier plays, but DTs win games more often.
Anyone else notice that she hasn't posted anything today...Any chance she got fired for a lack of actual content to her posts? I barely read her blog, but I was pretty pissed when I saw after the Marshall game that she'd said that we no longer had one of the best defenses in the Nation and probably not even in the ACC. Anyway, I figured there would at least be some kind of excuse blog about her predictions today, but no posts only AA.
when they were showing how large Logan's hands
I'm SURE the bracelet was the first thing on your mind....or anyone else's for that matter...
great, now they're going to think I'm some kind of weirdo because I said I want to clone them.
Where's George George when you need him?
Awwwww, man! I miss Boykin and his enormous hands
My advice would be to delete your twitter account or never look at any comments. Nothing good happens at 2 AM in the real world or on Twitter.
We mostly definitely are very lucky! I hope all you guys out there with daughters are taking notes here.
It CAN happen!
Don't forget, he's a cop bro! He knows how to ice a kicker!
"It's tough for such a physical offense to bounce back in 5 days, you really seemed to take advantage of their fatigue."
Being near the top in a SINGLE statistic that is meaningless when taken by itself >/= VT's D which is tops in INT's and sacks AND near the top in yardage allowed...Sure, Hoos. See you in November.
^^That's Mason.
Improvement in all phases of game play! I am optimistic about what this team can still accomplish if the offense keeps getting better and continues to compliment this defense! Go Hokies!!!
He did have that great break-up in the 4th quarter, but he got beat by receivers not necessarily faster than him at least 4 times. I counted. It was either 5 or 6. He's great in zone coverage, but not in man.
Bonner's real issue is not turning around to the ball when he's got tight coverage. That happened twice vs Marshall, he was right with the receiver and all he had to do was turn around and stick an arm up and there's no completion.
Not being able to run the ball with the RB's hurt, no doubt. Two good takeaways from the game though: 1- we were able to sustain drives and give our defense the rest it needed primarily through the passing game. 2- The turnovers and penalties on GT were mainly the result of a fresh defense being able to pressure the GT O-line and QB into making mistakes. While the offense didn't light up the scoreboard, they were able to move the ball and avoid having too many 3 and outs. I'll take it, especially with the great job LT did of not turning the ball over.
That's my goal, glad you appreciated it. :)
Thanks! Aw, that's really awesome that your dad played for Elon! We're both lucky girls to be able to watch football with our dads! It is one of my favorite things to do :)
"Well, that was a nice week, but I still haven't forgotten about Marshall there Bud!"
I'm not a particularly big fan of rumors of dirty laundry being aired outside the locker room but...

You gotta respect the fact that she really stuck her neck out to make that phone call. But she must have had her head in the trees to think we were gonna let GT run all over us.
You know, because she's a giraffe...
The voicemail starts there's the loud crash of Bud's hands reaching through the connection and chocking the "Neck" out! Beeep and Click!!!!
Good story Hokiegirl! I too got my Hokie obsession from my Dad. My dad play football for Blacksburg high in the 70's and back then their football team was able to use the facilities at VT. He was hooked from then on. He wasn't good enough to play for VT but he did play at Elon for a short time until he had to quit for a back injury. I watched the game with him last night and I was thinking on my way to work this morning how awful it will be one day to not be able to watch the Hokies with him anymore.
This is definitely true. The FS has to be the most difficult position in Foster's current system. Leaving a FS on an island in the middle of the field is absolutely CRAZY. Think about it, without a side line, the receiver can run in any direction. That's why in most man coverage schemes, you will see a safety with help over the middle.
With that said, Exum could play Foster's most demanding position better than Bonner if he's at the top of his game like the final games of 2012. But, I wouldn't just throw him in there. He'll need to be eased back in, perhaps changing series with Bonner.
And if you are concerned that NFL GMs would downgrade Exum because he is playing safety and not CB, I would disagree. The amount of man coverage Foster is having his FS perform is ridiculously high, essentially making the safety play with CB cover skills. The versatility of Exum being able to run defenses, play tight coverage, and to close in on passes will trump any question to his lack of commanding one position in his collegiate career.
Edit: First two paragraphs were in response to Mason's comment. Last paragraph was a general statement that I've heard before about Exum and projections to the NFL.

Oh yeah....that's totally what I was thinking about....all I remember thinking is...DAMN! And you know what they say about men who have big hands....they got big feet too! ;-)
