Great article as always. I love how you call out "armchair" Coaches too and then blow them out of the water with stats and facts!
Following the game, there were complaints about Scot Loeffler "calling plays like Stinespring."

What I dont understand is how we had to get rid of the "TV" logo and the Fighting Gobbler to have a sense of stability with our "Brand"...
Yet we continue to wear different uniforms every game, that are nothing like the normal "VT" with maroon or white.... Just doesnt make sense to me.
So great. Reviews like these make Monday and Tuesday mornings bearable.
But the last two videos aren't showing up for me; anyone else having this problem?
In that case he must have hit it HARD on Thursday night, because Friday night he was with the team in the hotel with a curfew...
I don't remember...did he get ejected for that? I know the rules this year, that would definitely be an ejection from the game.
Thanks. I actually think that would be appropriate going down to face the "other" tech, and the theme of the Hokie Stone.
Keep in mind, that in college football, and in college football media, the offense needs to rack up yards and points on an opponent to be considered...good...or great.
What I consider amazing, is that after a 7-6 season, and a complete change of offensive coaches, what team has EVER rolled on offense? What team has EVER looked sharp and had everything click? Name one...
Let them sell their magazines, and ads, and whatever else they want to...bad mouth us, say we're not that great...say we're overrated(?)...give us fuel for the fire. It may be a heart attack season, but I see "win" in their eyes like they didn't have last year. It's going to be a tough fight...but in the words of Colin Cowherd, "If you're in a tough game...put your money on the Hokies every time."

Great minds think alike.
Another excellent piece of work, French. I continue to wonder why we haven't seen any designed misdirection runs from Loeffler. On the face of it, one would think that would be a really good way to take some of the starch out of the backside pursuit that's been giving us trouble in the running game.
My hope is that maybe Loeffler has been sandbagging those plays and that we'll see them against GT.
Oops, forgot I wasn't supposed to be funny in the morning. I hope no one chokes on their Cheerios today!
Glad you liked it.
Dang, beat me to it. I was thinking something along the same lines. (Read: I was sifting through images of our tuba players to photoshop him into)
Probably something like:

Foghorn Leghorn helmets were first used in the game at BC, then again against UVa, if I recall (though I try very hard to repress it).
I laughed
Alright, we've gotten our mistakes and sloppy games out of the way (is that so much to ask for?), bring on the ACC!
"Rogaine" and the caption on the picture of Bud had me rolling. Well played, Dozer.
Someone's going to have to help me out. Which one is the "pylon" logo? (and while I have your attention, which game had the white helmet with the number on one side and the gobbler on the other?)
Well done French. No doubt this line provided really good pass protection all day and netted over 200 yards rushing. Big improvement over what we saw last year.
We still need to be more consistent as an entire offensive unit. Hopefully the unit will come together as the competition gets tougher. No doubt, effort was noticeable every where.
Caption: No. It's not Heisman- but what chy'all think?
"I never cared to figure out the right spelling..."
Love it! Stinespring...Steinspring...either way it's still means terrible OC.
It's clear this team is playing with something to prove, too. Last year's team folds under the pressure and loses this game. This year, it's been ugly, but there was no "give up" on their faces like I saw all over faces last year.
Caption this: "Hokie, Hokie, Hokie, Hi...Steppin'!"
WOW. Just wow. French you are good.
I finally watched the whole game last night. It's clear that this team is better conditioned this year, but is still very rough around the edges in technique. As long as the defense limits big plays, we have a chance in every game.

When someone says a team is overrated, it is just an opinion. VT could win every game by 3-7 points and finish 12-1 and they would still say "overrated" just because games aren't won by a large amount I'd say. Most of the games aren't even watched. They are just seen from the boxscore point of view.
