I would put money on the fact that it won't be the classic VT. Don't shoot the messenger, and I very well could be wrong (covering all my bases here) - but usually it seems as if they don't put the decals on if it is a newer decal until the actual game. The bowl game comes to mind- however, I know they practiced with a decal to honor Sandy Hook and VT as well. I'm guessing for the pylons. Beamer talked about them a god bit on TTL.

Yeah there needs to b a stripe to cover up that seam, it's horrendously ugly and tacky like that. But I think a maroon stripe down the middle and a maroon VT on both sides would actually make it look great. I hope those are the alluded "changes."

I got married during football season BUT my wife and I planned it around the Hokie football schedule. The best part is we did this without the schedule even being out yet. Looking at 7 years of schedules, we checked to see what weekend we would be most likely to have a bye week or a Thursday night game (obviously this year is an outlier). We timed it perfect and had a Thursday night game before our wedding and a Thursday night game during our honeymoon (which we watched). It just happened that our wedding was also on the day of the Bama-LSU game as well as I think USC-Oregon or Oregon-Stanford, but we could care less as long as it wasn't a Hokie gameday.

But it's more fun to blame the AD because he DID get rid of the Thursday Night Game and that trumps everything else.

my best friend got married the Friday before an away game. A big group of us from the wedding went to a bar on Saturday to watch the game. Good times were had by all.

Well said. In particular, CFB made the changes on the offensive side of the ball because the old coaches weren't getting it done on the field or in recruiting. The lack of quality recruiting for offensive players, especially OLs, is why we're in this situation now.
But, I like the fire and commitment to recruiting of the new guys - that will pay off in a couple of years.

Wedding's during football season are the worst! So inconsiderate!
I like the helmets. But wearing them for a road game makes 0.0 sense! We're highlighting the rich heritage of our campus...for an away game. Do we really expect espn to show shots of our campus while they talk about them? I would bet they will spend more time talking about GiT's building style than ours because of it.

Oh man, I'm in TN and I watched that game in a bar full of Vol fans/alum, and many of them went for the 'if I die of alcohol poisoning maybe this game will have never happened' route after the first half. It was a great day for me after they were busting me for us barely beating ECU

that said, if foster is dc for life, gray is going to have to leave to get that shot.
I'd be thrilled with Todd Grantham sometime down the road, but that means you are not just losing Beamer, but also losing Foster.
