I feel like rain = no passing game is a little bit antiquated. With dry balls being snapped on every play, the ball isn't more slippery. If you drop the ball, it wasn't because of the rain. Furthermore, the footing is usually not as good, which hurts DBs that need to break on WR routes. Slipping also weakens the running game, especially zone running which relies on hard cuts. The deep-passing game will be difficult, as stunts and crosses will be harder to block for the O-line men, so expect a few sacks.

All in all, I think the zone-read and short passing attack are the best offensive strategies in the rain. VT should be able to do this, but I think Marshall can too. I just imagine VT's defense will be better than Marshall's.

One Disclaimer - if it's torrential down pour, then yes I agree, the passing game (and rushing) will suffer greatly and whoever fumbles the ball less probably wins.

Only thing I remember from that game is it seemed like there were about 5 of #11 Shane Skov running around making tackles that dude was everywhere!

The Logo above " keep calm" will be his murder eyes from that picture in Dozer's BUZZCAP for WCU

Yea, that's true. Although, we must consider Mizzou as well. I have no idea if they're receiving more money or not. But, I guess, if VT were to join the SEC, and Andrew Ford is the next Johnny Manziel, and VT wins the SEC East, maybe the excitement would generate that kind of money. But, I'm not buying joining the SEC alone will generate a huge difference in donations.

Yeah it isn't hard. I think if I were trying to detect automated scripts there would be a few things I would check:

1) Greedy/consistent voting. If there is a vote from the same IP address every two seconds, it's a computer.
2) Nighttime voting. If the same IP votes 24 hours a day on any pseudo-regular interval, it's a computer.

It would be pretty easy to try to automate something along the lines of:

Check time. Time between, say, 8 AM and 9 PM?
Generate random number between 0 and 1.
30 seconds + (Random number * 30 seconds)
Sleep for this amount of time.
Vote.
Start over.

This would generate 60-120 votes per minute, but with the same IP. If could fake the IP sending the click, it would be really hard to track. I don't know how to do this, or even if it is possible. I suppose I could wrap the script in a virtual machine, then rebuild the machine between votes, but that would take a lot of time between votes/voting sessions.

Since you can manually vote as many times as you want, it might work to vote, say, 10 times, then wait for 15 minutes, vote ten times, wait...etc. I don't have any faith that automated voting won't be discounted eventually, though. (Double negative...wait....I DO have faith that automated voting WILL be discounted eventually, good got it).

Anyone ever been involved in validating against automation before? Any strategies to hack around?

This is one of the dumbest things I have ever read. "Unsportsmanlike" for fans being load LMAO. Its more unsporting to be a poor sports when you lose and then right a letter saying "boo hoo there fans are too load :-(" it does sound like something UVA fans would do.

20-14 Tech. As Beamer would say, they will get after ya. However, they will not get after us enough to pull out the W.

If they win two of the next three by 1 point, I would be thrilled. This is a classic trap game, with a still unconvinced crowd at home, playing a Marshall team that can score and disrupt a running game AND a match up against what has become a hated rival that happens to have added an effective passing game to a running game which requires the defense to completely change character. Oh, and with only four days in between games.

I love my football team, but I don't know how they avoid losing one of the next three.

All I am saying is for the Hokies to leave the ACC it will have to take another ACC bolting. If the SEC wants us badly enough, they will have to bite the bullet. They could go for an NC school, but my guess is with the ACC getting stronger every year in football, VT is probably pretty satisfied as to where they are. SEC can't stay on top forever.

Yeah I was actually pretty excited to see Lake Taylor win states last season, but Oscar Smith EMBARRASSED them to start this one. I was really hoping Jalyn Holmes(sp?) was going to commit to tech, but Im honestly not surprised he chose Ohio State. I actually had a class (at Tech) with Painter as well! It was like intro to property management or something like that. We even did an assignment together, it was the highlight of the class for me.

17-10
Start out slow then defense dominates. Defensive or special teams TD and the offense gets one in.

Any bottom shelf mixed drink is a "well" drink. The rail is called a rail because they use a half pour(or are supposed to) all the well liquors and mix them together with fruit punch(?). This one is special because it's literally like ordering 3-4 shots at once.

Pessimist! But I am so there too. If Logan can shut off the INT spigot, we might dominate. Sure hope so, that ECU game cost me a lot of pulled hair, and at my age, there's not a lot left.
