Indeed. Mizzou should definitely find themselves in the Big Ten at some point. Then the Big Ten should add both Kansas schools and subtract MD. The SEC should add both Oklahomas and NCState, then the ACC should take MD back. Not that I want MD back, nor does the Big Ten want either Kansas school or Mizzou, but this, I think is the best arrangement.

Texas can go independent. Or form an all-Texas conference.

Maybe 100 turkey legs should be a BaxterLeg and 1000 should be a HorseLeg. Does anyone know what the HorseOnATreadmill's name is?

Agreed. I think it was our loss to them that turned me against them. No BCS for them this year. Fresno has a shot, though.

Regardless of rankings, I just want us to win out.

Wish I could be at Lane today, but LET'S GO HOKIES!

Also, GO KEYDETS!

Kinda agree with wasp on this one as the passing teams should be ok as long as the quarterback can grip the ball. As a former receiver catching passes from a D1quarterback, I find a dry ball coming at you fast and in a tight spiral. The ball can be much slicker than a wet ball. Doesn't make much sense when you think about it but go get a piece of real leather and get it wet and you will get the point, it's kinda of sticky. Some of my best game receiving came in the rain. Just my 2 cents.

I have been saying the " play down to competition card" for years and it's apparent in just about all of our losses. Boise was not as good as advertised the year we played them at FedEx and even if it was a short week, JMU had no place giving us a second L. That's why I enjoy playing teams like Alabama because even though we don't win, we come to play.

I'm scared because I'm getting dragged off to a wedding tomorrow at 3 PM so I really need VT to have things under control at halftime.

Come December you will hear on 4 Letter Network jingle that it is the Most Wonderful Time of Year song. No, this is the the best time of the year. Weather is changing (that means rain in here in Seattle) and college football is in full swing. Yeah, this week might have sucking games but guess what. It is still football and were are 1/4 through the season after tomorrow. I am guessing we are going to have good games tomorrow b/c everyone but the 4 Letter Network is saying so. I think undefeated LSU and War Damn Eagle are playing but I will have to check my tv schedule. I am just thankful there is football on and I am going to get up at 7:30 so I can get to the bar by 9:00. That's AM for all you East Coasters. Why? Because I love college football and drinking.

On the the picks.

UNCheating
Obviously Vegas and most of the TKP is picking #RevengeNesbo. Not me. I am mainly going from the Solid Verbal talking about the minute you pick GiT, the minute they disappoint. I saw UNC suck week one, but they are better now, right? Also, is there a more WASPy name for a QB than Bryn Renner?

Gators
I was all set to pick Tennessee here but BCO had to show the picture of the wimminz. I can't go against that. What gets me is the fact that UF might not even score 17 points, but once again, pictures of beauties muddle my mediocre judgement.

ND
This game has recently been decided by 7 points or less. That means you should take the points. But ND always pulls a game or 7 out of there ass and they haven't done that this year. I think this is the game.

Stanford
Karma. Plus there is a good chance Todd Graham will be coaching Texas by the second half.

LSU
Since the departure of Cam Newton, Auburn has really had some #goacc quarterback play. LSU is poised to not lose, unless they play Alabama? Maybe they will play this year.

Utah
I think Utah's OC is Bryan Johnson, an ex QB there. He is about to turn 15 years old. I think he opens up his whole playbook, the one with all the pictures.

This weeks picks are brought to you by Scuttlebutt Homeport Blonde a good local pilsner made in Everett, WA. I actually am not sure where that is but I don't think its too far. I am hoping to have Rogers Pilsner tomorrow at the bar.

Go Hokies!

Oh how the mighty have fallen.... we are trembling at the sight of Marshall!

I hate being chicken little, but if we lose tomorrow we might as well blow it up. WVU of all schools, has never lost to Marshall.

I don't think our thread starting friend is completely out of bounds with his concerns. I hope I am wrong, but this team is fully capable of losing to Marshal 13-7.

VT loves, and I mean loooooves (see KU in the Orange Bowl), to play down to the competition, and this is a game where playing down to the competition will burn us.

Sheep to. With the ag and vet schools, plenty around to "borrow". Nothing like an elevator automatically opening up to a flock, which then takes over your floor.

This is why all polls should wait till October at the earliest.

UPDATE:

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/eaus/wv-animated.gif

according to the weather radar the water vapor/cloud cover may hit earlier than anticipated, I'd still prepare for rain during the game, but with a little luck they might pass by right around kickoff or right after theres still gonna be cloud cover all day but precipitation COULD pass by noon-1. Again I still wouldnt count on it I'm still betting on a pretty dreary rainy day

I may get a lot of down votes for this, but I will tell you why you are afraid my friend. You are afraid because we have been here before, questions on offense, very young defense and questionable special teams and a game on a short week. Last time this happened it wasnt pretty, coming off a game against boise that we should have won, and then losing to freaking jmu the same damn week. It was heartbreaking to watch it unfold, but the reason you are scared is because you believe it will happen again, which is understandable, hence everything i said before. A program like VT should have never lost to boise or jmu, esp w all the talent we had on that team. I dont believe this years team has the same amout, esp on offense, but you can rest assure that Buds defense will show up as it always has minus a few games over the years. With that being said, you can play great defense but if you have let downs in the other two aspects of the game then it could spell disaster alabama for example. You are worried about the offense not showing up or maybe another breakdown on special teams which could cost us another game. But its simple really, all they offense has to do is show up and play ball, not just any ball Hokie Football. Line up and smack em in the mouth and dont stop until the whistle blows. I am predicting 27-7 Hokies win, we score on defense and the offense has some short fields caused by Fosters children.
