I completely agree these young CBs are studs. However, I don't think they would look nearly as good without a premiere defensive line. With a lack of deep safeties and corners biting on routes, any QB with time would be able to thrash the CBs with simple pump and go's, stutter routes, etc. As of yet, no QB has had time for these style of routes to develop. As Giants fans know, an excellent D-line can make an ordinary backfield look extraordinary. Luckily for VT, they have an extraordinary backfield as well.
Will VT face an offensive line good enough to give their QB time? I guess we'll find out.
Yes, most of his fakes look obvious to us, from our vantage point. He only has to sell it to the defense trying to see through a bunch of bodies in front of them. I'm sure someone out there has the tape for review, but to see how sold the fake is, keep an eye on how the defense reacts to it, not to how it appears to someone looking down on the field.
The best thing to improve our offense is likely having to play against our defense in practice.
Weaver didn't, the office of Licensing and Trademark in University Relations did.

Can we get an official name change?
Anyone have issues with the replay command, using youtube lately? Once it plays once, the bottom controls go away and you can not select replay. You can only go to the very beggings and watch it again..
gifs would be awesome
Which bookstore did you get the alumni frame from?
I feel like their parents should have to go to timeout or something for raising their kids to be UVA fans....ugh.
By wayyyyyyy over you mean Yao Ming standing on Manute Bol's shoulder's couldn't catch it.
I too appreciated the look he gave to the receiver although a part of me thought, "those LT haters are going to eat that up..."
It was stated as a "roughing" the kicker penalty. I was shocked that it wasn't 1st down at that point. Having not seen the game, and only getting updates, I was pondering myself if there was a rule change in this. I remember at some point they were talking about getting rid of the running into/roughing distinction and just making it one penalty, but I don't know what they did with it.
Unfortunately we can't.. Weaver retired the fighting gobbler and TV tech logos
not srs
Corrected: With our D ends I'm not sure who would want to throw the deep ball.
Injuries can impact confidence. Even if you feel better you are not sure if the pain will suddenly return. Your body instintively reacts to painful situations or actions that caused pain in the past. Call it "pain memory". CJ must not have felt 100% in his mind even if his body didn't actually hurt. His mind was gun shy and overuled his leg. Pushing through the pain isn't always the right thing to do.
The point of having a back up ready to go is that your starter can be injured on any given play. Coaching is about putting your best players on the field. As evidenced by the results, it didn't happen with special teams against bama and didn't happen in the kicking game against ECU. The question I have is this a case of poor coaching judgment or just mistakes on the field?
Is this Danny Coale Pt II?
- Livelong UVA fan
- Walks on to VT
- becomes a legend.
If I remember correctly, the first throw Logan had in the game was to the flat and it was waaaay over the receiver's head. At first I was like, 'Uh oh, here we go again'. Then the camera caught Logan's face after the play and he was laughing a little and gave the, 'That was me' signal. Then I knew it would be alright. First snap jitter. Time to play ball.
Sam Rogers can arrest TimeCop
I certainly think that's part of it, but it doesn't explain his lack of use of counters and counter-type plays in the ECU and WCU games. We showed more of the playbook in the Bama game (triple option, counter, etc) then in any of the other games. Sure he wants them to learn the basics and fundamentals but he also is only using the parts of the playbook that he thinks he can beat these OOC opponents with so as not to tip his hand. I think he wanted to just keep running against ECU and had to use the spread look which, my guess is, wasn't want he planned or wanted to do, but decided that was better to use than to dust off the counter plays.
it's funny you say that. watching the game i told my buddy i didnt like the timeout, felt like it took a little momentum of the drive away. then they ran the play and scored six and it was like, 'ok that'll work.'

I am pretty sure this is a common issue with YouTube right now and the fact that it does not really buffer like it used to.
That said, the one thought I had was to use gifs instead of YouTube clips in the analysis. At least for me, it almost seems like the video loads up to the point that it's supposed to start playing before it actually plays. Basically, I am seeing a lot of delay between clicking "play" and the video actually playing.
I saw a site that was using gifs to show each play and I thought it looked great because as soon as it was done, it looped back to the beginning and showed the play over and over again continuously. I'm not sure what kind of effort that takes to accomplish, but I really liked how it looked.
So what if LT shows up on Monday, "Coach, I got a sore shoulder," they rest him all week and Friday night/Saturday morning he says "feels fine" and gets the go-ahead from the trainers. Goes 1 for 15 in passing. Still says his shoulder is fine, when do you bench him for medical reasons?
"The husband"
made me think of the Foe"rensics" for WCU

I laughed

It was on the helmets for the last game also.
