also they hired a coach who graduated from VT a few years ago
I'm excited to see this.
Tariq Edwards, J.R. Collins, Josh Trimble , Dadi Nicolas and Kyle Fuller are the starters on special teams now.— Mike Barber (@RTD_MikeBarber) September 3, 2013
LOL at horseonatreadmill.
While I would have preferred the first down...I didn't mind the pass call on 3rd and 1 since Alabama was stacking the box. Just unfortunate that the Oline botched the blocking so Logan had to roll and throw away. But 2nd or 3rd and 1 is a good time to attack the defense and put some quick points up.
Close... I listened to the podcast. Essentially, Barre and Maisel said let's not read into one game and Alabama will be fine. Maisel did give Foster credit on the podcast, but did not suggest to any notion that VT was indeed the better defensive team. Barre, only had this to say about VT (and specifically Logan Thomas): "I would bring up and talk about Logan Thomas right now, but I heard he just threw another incompletion."
I think it's safe to say, any national recognition in the media will not come unless Miami and VT meet with 1 loss or fewer. Then maybe, they'll get a blurb about how this will impact the weak Coastal Division in the ACC. If this doesn't happen, then VT will only be mentioned if they make the ACC championship game, but it'll probably be more about FSU/Clemson than VT... But, I digress. Just keep winning boys and win the Orange Bowl.
That. I think also there is a combination of inexperience and a completely new play book. The receivers ran incorrect routes, dropped passes and in general, underperformed. Combine that with the possibility that Logan may have called a few incorrect plays because of the new offense and things can get frustrating. Each game it should get better--receivers catching more, the offense gets in gear...etc. No way logan gets worse than 5/26 for 59 yards and 1 int.

I thought I would like it more but I think a little bit of orange is needed. Otherwise it's just another A&M uni. I think for #allmarooneverything we should use the orange number with out the white outlining
This would be a pretty good play, especially if the CB and safeties are charging in at the snap. I was thinking a bubble screen would be the only passing play, but a bubble screen would be of no benefit, since the safety and CB should be charging in. I like your play much better, except I might have the TE to try and sneak behind the LBs on a drag route. The slot receiver though, wouldn't he have to be behind the QB (backwards pass) in order to legally receive the ball? I think it's illegal touching, if not.
I guess another alternative you could have the QB option right, and have the covered WR crack on the linebacker. Then it becomes an option pass, but again one would have to account for the safeties that would charge at the snap (maybe even creep up before the snap). Maybe the pitchman takes on the safety.
Doctor...I concur.
Ha. True enough. Gave a turkey leg anyway, they're better than whatever I'm pulling
Coming from an expert, they did look better, on the hoof
Yup. Far right. As much maroon as you can handle, orange where you can't. What if we did all maroon everything with only an orange border around the numbers and white lettering for the names?
I was about to mock this up but the paint bucket in MSPaint shows me that those colors have gradients. Boo urns.
Here's some more acknowledgement, kinda. From Andy Staples's Power Rankings this week:
The Crimson Tide, who had to revamp their offensive line since it was last spotted bulldozing Notre Dame, allowed four sacks and gained only 96 rushing yards against Virginia Tech. There's a PAWWWWWWWWWWWWL in there somewhere, and it's safe to say the nerves are a little frayed in the Yellowhammer State. This is what happens when a fan base has too few actual losses about which to complain. People worry in spite of the fact that their team cruised to a 25-point win against a possibly-slightly-above-average BCS conference opponent. Alabama has earned the benefit of the doubt over the past few years. This performance may have been an anomaly. (Another possibility? Virginia Tech, which is known for fielding very good defenses, has a very good defense.) At any rate, we'll find out exactly how good this Alabama team is the next time it takes the field.
At least someone in the media entertained the possibility that our defense is good.
I'm thinking that joints bending in the wrong ways could be a positive.
Just sayin'........
I actually did not consider that UVA would score negative points. How I missed this, I will never know.
Second one from the left looks like her arm is bending the wrong way. Second from the right has greasy hair. They all seem to have some weird o-shaped growth on their cheeks. Also, I don't like Nike. 2/10, would not bang.
After last week I would kill for Logan to complete 50% of his passes.
DJ, everything will be forgiven if you level LBs again like this!

Halftime...........Blah Ha Ha. Can't wait for those fireworks!
I also hope we see some more huge blocks like this

Good. We certainly don't need the players to continue to dwell on this. I know they watched the film Sunday, so I'm sure Moorehead addressed what they need to fix and will work on correcting that this week. Not saying fans are wrong to discuss plays, but from a player perspective it's time to let last Saturday be and they don't need to revisit it with the media because we need these guys for the rest of the season.
I was upset we threw so much too but Im not at all surprised. Anytime you spot the other team 21 points its hard to run as much as you want. Ill be interested to see what happens when our O line is tested for a typical Loeffler game
I bet logan doesn't have as good a game against pitt, maybe not even half as good. Logan is around the 50 percent mark consistantly
Caleb is at RB now and reports indicated he wasn't making much progress at WR. Given the issues we've witnessed at WR, it's pretty apparent to me he must have been having a lot of trouble with the position for that move to have been made.
We got shafted so badly on the ACC schedule. So long, FSU game- hello two years in a row of @Miami, @BC, and home against Duke. It might be nice to say "goodbye" to Maryland with one last W, but not at the cost of not playing FSU again until freaking 2018 @FSU and finally bring them back to Lane in 2023. Throw in that we're @Notre Dame in 2016 with no return trip scheduled yet for the next decade... talk about a slap in the face.
