I read all of it and I agree. I always take comfort in knowing that Beamer always finds a way to get this team improving week to week. In November, it is very difficult to beat the Hokies, even last year. I was we could start better, but like you said, new offense etc.

As for the sell-out, after going 6-6 and having a weak home schedule, it was bound to happen. I don't like it but the team has got to perform to get people to keep buying tickets. If we don't sell out, which would be sad, it will probably be the last time in a while if the defense can play like it did and the offense puts more points on the board. 10 points against bama ALL from offense is more than a lot of analysts were giving us.

Winston was the #1 QB in his class and a 5-star talent wanted by many top schools. Ford is a 3-star QB who wasn't VT's first choice at QB this year. That's not meant as a slight but as a factual statement. Ford may turn out to be the guy but Winston got the hype for a reason.

Another QB who looked good last weekend was Hackenberg for PSU.

French - can you post a clip of Dadi exploding off the line? There were a few plays where I felt like Dadi was in the backfield before the ball was snapped. Granted, he did not make a play on the ball, but the explosion out of his stance was unbelievable in my opinion.

I think it's also important to remember that this was the only college game on last night. If it was on Saturday afternoon it wouldn't have gotten quite as much attention.

He played very well, in one game. That's all there is to say about it for right now.

Agree with this. Whatever you want to call it the O is definitely not ocainspring. This was the first real game experience with it against one of the best Ds in the land. I think we showed up to play and did well. I am very hopeful. The next two games should show how far it will go .

speaking of strong armed knuckleheads, we've had them before.

He actually did alright for us at the time. Though he did not transition well to the NFL as you may recall. I was at VT during the end of his time and knew good ol' Drunk a little. An anecdote from my "time" with him.

Once at a house party, he gave his drink to a lineman and said "I'm leaving". Lineman says "Shit Druck. Just don't get arrested." while shaking his head. Drunk proceeded to walk straight up to a young girl who clearly had a bf. Hit on said girl and then when said bf dared to say something, picked him up and flung him into the fridge with every ounce of strength he had. He then walked out of the party after having retrieved his cup of beast lite. To this day I have no idea why that kid did not press charges.
