In another thread someone mentioned the possibility of being able to sell tickets you can't use to other students through the school at face value. That would work well in conjunction with using the Hokie Passport as your ticket.

One of the great things about going to a smaller FCS university was that we got into games free (except for Hockey and maybe a couple other club sports). Obviously not the same atmosphere as Tech, but I'd put Liberty up against any non-BCS D1 team and a lot of BCS as well (Looking at you LOLUVA). The bad part of it was that we only had one Thursday night game and I had a class that necessitated me missing the first half of that one.

As mentioned, certainly not the career path he envisioned for himself. I know I was really excited when my Eagles drafted him, but like a majority of players, the NFL is just not an easy place to stick around.

Wish him the best of luck and continued success playing football. Who knows, keep working hard and there might still be a shot in the league.

Yeah, at least a personal foul. That shot was high and turned out to be very helmet-to-helmet due to Weatherford leaning down into it.

Agreed. Unfortunately there are people at our school with no sense of school pride.

I really like the concept. Also, people with tickets would probably be less likely to sell them (at high prices). I personally think it is incredibly immoral to sell a student ticket that you paid $12 for to me for $75. Whenever I couldn't make a bball game, I sold my ticket for $6.00. Not trying to steal cash from another college student.

This system would prevent people who enter the lottery/buy season tickets with the sole intent of making a profit from doing so.

That is very similar to the system at Tech, except there's no requirement, it's all based on demand. If season tickets sell out to Hokie Club members, they never see public availability, simple as that. If Silver Hokie (and above) members buy up all the tickets, there's none for Bronze or Orange and Maroon Hokies. IIRC, there were a couple years in the early to mid 00's that tickets were sold out to O&M Hokies, meaning people that donate $250+ per year on top of ticket prices.

Like I said above, the basketball side of things pissed me off more than anything. I love going to basketball games, and even though a lot of others didn't care about it I didn't win season tickets until my Junior year. For football I can agree that or system is good enough.

You can lead a horse to beer, but you can't make him drink.

horsedrink

He'll handle that on his own.

EDIT: Thanks to this screenname I'm realizing you can find a picture of a horse doing just about anything there is to do. Even in NSFW topics. I'll not post them here.

Sounds great. Maybe not the career he was planning for when he went to underwear modeling...

macho

I was going to link this image from another site but then I realized it was on balleralert.com

Up here at Penn State the implemented a system (pre-scandal) where you had to donate something like $500 bucks to the Nittany Lion club (or whatever its called) to have the 'right' to purchase season tickets. Then the tickets are absurdly overpriced for the half seat you end up with.

I have a feeling many of the top 1,000 "dedicated" students may not end up making it to senior year, haha

Must be the reason UMD's stadium is always packed.

(Sorry for the snarkiness, but there's a lot of complaining over pretty minor things. If you walk through tailgate lots before a game it's VERY easy to find tickets at or below face. I've talked to people with extras plenty of times and if you're a recent graduate or student many fans are happy to sell you a ticket at a heavy discount)

Realistically I'm looking at this as a complete coaching overhaul, where the benefits start to pay off in year 3. Anything before that is gravy. If we top 8-4 this year we've done a great job.

In my heart however it's #BURNDOWNBAMA #BEATEVERYONE

1000 dedication points= free turkey leg. Call Weaver to have him sign this into law

They also have 20,000 empty seats. I thank every one of you for giving us better fans than the twerps

I'd like to see students sitting closer in the east stands as well... Ravenous fans should be right behind the away team. That being said I recognize it is a money issue.

Marcus Travis' brother! Loved him.

That boston fan turned two Hokies into terrible football watchers. Just one more example of how much they suck

you should see the guy in person,

and that is why college football is the greatest sport on the plan, the unexpected is the norm. and anything can happen.

oh well...good luck Victor sounds pretty awesome to me working on the pipelines in the winter and playing football too...

And for those wondering, just so we have all those guys covered, the guy to the left of Stanford is Terrance Travis. Walk-on from Blacksburg. Played against him in high school. Easily one of the most athletic guys I've ever been around. Seriously the definition of freak athlete. Happy to see him on the team, know he's been working his butt off to get where he is!
