Yup. I go run stairs there from time to time. The southeast gate has always been open.
I honestly feel like Big Gay Al's is the most crowded/fratty bar. I try to avoid that place at all costs. They started charging a $1 cover this past semester anyway, so I don't see any reason to pay to get in so that I can never get service at the bar.
Go do it! For the past three years I haven't had a problem finding an open gate. Grounds and maintenance doesn't care, as long as you don't step on their field. DON'T STEP ON THE FIELD. Knowing from first hand experience, I just saved you from getting yelled at :). Cheers!
Yeah, during our band camp last year, a few of us played football in Lane at like 2 in the afternoon. There were some maintenance guys around, but they really don't care as long as you're not being an asshat.
I think during the season they lock it up for a few days before each game, but for the most part it stays open, and I don't think it's trespassing if you're there when the gates are open.
While I wish the option was available to pay for only the channels I watch (mostly sports, FX, TNT, HBO/Showtime, and normal broadcast stuff), it would probably end up raising price per channel very quickly. My biggest concern though, is the government involving itself in yet another enterprise. That's the quickest way to have a price increase and an efficiency decrease. If people want change for the better, they'll have to find a free market solution, unless we want to be watching football on PBSsports.
So you can go in the stadium any time you want to? kinda? I have always wanted to touch THE hokie stone. I just figured it was pretty much off limits to anyone but football players and staff.

Change the helmet, make it look like a classic uniform. I have no idea if the Redskins actually had a uniform like this.
Bull and Bones has a quieter atmosphere, for sure. I take the girlfriend there whenever she's in town, they have really good food and a couple of good house beers.
But it's definitely not somewhere to go just for the bar on Friday night or anything.
Yeah, I realize that the a la carte system would result in higher sub fees to make up for fewer viewers, so instead of paying $5.80 for ESPN (not to mention the rest of their 7 main channels) I'd be paying maybe $10-15. I definitely wouldn't want to go to that system, especially since there are occasionally things that I'd want to see on one of those 100 channels I don't normally watch and almost certainly wouldn't pay to add to my subscription.
Also, didn't Spike start off as TNN like 20 or 30 years ago? It has been in my basic cable package as long as I can remember my family having cable.
