I'm sure when it comes to actual game prep, Bama will be focused on the matter at hand. The TAMU loss should provide plenty of offseason prep motivation for a team coming off an easy NC victory.

Even if it was just an ACL I wasn't counting on him too much. He wouldn't have been full strength until deep into the season anyway. He's still an emotional leader of the team though and needs to continue to provide that leadership for the younger guys.

I love that our players are putting so much offseason focus on this game. That being said, we don't want another Boise St situation where we put overthing on it, played a FCS game on short rest and lost. Let's hope: 1) we beat Bama!, 2) if we do lose (which I'm sure would be from crappy officiating) we have the senior leadership and new coaching attitude to keep us focused for the rest of the schedule.

Harvill was awesome and would do anything for her students! I also sat next to Ella Greenberg in one of the courses.

"Class, weather's too nice today to justify you being indoors. Dismissed!"

I love that he has a blocked punt in his highlights.....how many receivers have pancake blocks in their film?! Has some D.J. Coles-like blocks. Add speed and the ability to catch the ball and you have impressive highlights indeed!

Brown is essentially a tailback playing wide receiver, which if he can get blocking makes those bubble screens look mighty dangerous. Then you have Harrison stretching the defense ala a Cordarrelle Patterson (Harrison looks just like him with the size, speed, and way he catches the ball) on the other side, and Proehl working the slot just like his dad?

POUND THE ROCK, POUND THE ROCK, STICK ROUTE FOR 3 AND A 1ST. POUND THE ROCK. SCREEN FOR 5 AND A 1ST. POUND THE ROCK. HARRISON GETS IN ON THE SKINNY POST. SHAKES A TACKLE. TOUCHDOWN TECH.

Not sure if you've run numbers on them before, but if you have, how much-ish would they cost? I'd gladly buy $20 worth to support the site.

or one of about a dozen things doesnt happen. tyrod fumbling the snap early, roughing the kicker to keep a drive alive, oline playing at least semi-competently, etc etc etc.

Man, I really like Javon Harrison. Boy likes to hit. He blocks the mess out of some fools in that tape. Also, good nose for big plays because he doesn't quit.

I could be wrong, but Brown and Blanding were both heavy UVA leans and had been for awhile. I think the only "miss" on that list was Holmes, but he "fell in love with OSU" and I don't know if you can pin that on Stiney. Some kids feel at home as soon as they walk on the campus and no "recruiting" will change that.

Don't count your Javon Harrison's before they hatch. Recruiting season doesn't even start in Florida until next January.

Originally, UVA was supposed to get Blanding and Brown and VT was supposed to get Hand and Holmes and Nnadi could go either way.

2014 targets Blanding and Brown are shown on Rivals as being recruited by Stiney. Same goes for Jalyn Holmes (OSU commit). But Stiney had some good 2013 recruits and others in past years (like LT and DW). 2012 he missed some big names but there are a couple that may step up this year. Is he losing the 757 battles or is he still effective? Nnadi is on his list.

Good dude. I had at least two of his classes.

Washington-Lee but I transferred to a Canadian prep school in 2000

Alabama has shown that you don't exactly need a great Qb to win the title (although it is preferred). In 2009 they won it with Greg McElroy, but what they did have is a 2-deep RB position with 2 NFL backs, a great offensive line and an outstanding defense. That's what you need

I personally think CFB's best chance to win a championship in the past was actually the 1999 season when the Hokies actually played in the game, and led going into the 4th quarter. In 2000, I'm not sure we beat Miami that year regardless of if Vick had been healthy. They were good and our D was not as good as the year before.

Or if Stephen Friday could play the run... EVER.

If they can get Brown, Brown and Harrison would be the two guys looked upon to be contributors early on. We have not talked about Harrison much because he gave his verbal commitment to VT so early, but his 2012 film http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umkzQSVPAOw shows me that he could be a legitimate big play home run threat. I really hope he stays in the fold.

if no one leaves early (unlikely), i think that 2016 could be our best chance. we're losing some key players in JC Coleman, RVD, Dadi, but we'd have a sick jr/sr class and with some of the defensive prospects i expect to get for 2014, they'd be coming off a redshirt freshman year looking to contribute (yeah i'm talking bout you raymon minor, derek nnadi, and ricky walker). our secondary, by all accounts, could be the one of the best in the country with fuller, clark, facyson, cj, and holland fisher.

2015 and/or 2016 ... those are the years to get it done IMO.
