Every person is different, every injury is different. If the doctors are saying he's ahead of schedule, I'd trust that. Don't be like those doctors they put on tv when someone of notoriety is sick or injured. They get on a talk show or news show and analyze the person's problem without ever seeing the person. Drives me nuts. Sorry...stepping off my soapbox now.
Most of Proehl's highlights just showed him being the fastest kid on the field (not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just that a lot of times the WR's with BCS aspirations are the fastest kid on their team). But, the few times it showed him making catches in traffic, he seemed to have pretty good awareness of who was around him and consistently made the moves to make the first guy miss, and sometimes the second.
His QB highlights pretty much showed a decent arm, no real long passes, but when he either scrambled or ran what looked like the zone read he showed the ability to find holes and follow his blockers.
Oh, and towards the end there was a play that showed him blocking his CB pretty well on an outside run when he lined up as WR.
Noah Brown looks filthy... we need to land him
I was thinking that, too (wondering if being out in AZ was an NCAA problem). I guess if he pays for it all, it probably isn't a problem.
To your other point, though, last year Kyle Fuller was hurt much of the year and didn't look like what I expected. I'm tired of seeing our best guys not at 100%.
Or if Boykin caught that ball on 4th 10 against Boise St
yes, or if we managed to compete against LSU and didnt have to waste tyrods redshirt
Against BC 07?
or if josh morgan recovered that onside kick.
I like the idea of being national title contenders in 2015, but that's not going to happen unless we get some studs at WR and someone steps up at RB. We do have many candidates at RB and some incoming talent at WR though so I like our chances
To only be 65% a little over a month out seems off track to me. I was probably about 80-85% back from only a meniscus tear at this time of the year following an early January tear and a late Jan surgery working out at a top of the line sports medicine rehab facility. That last 20% takes a while. Also beyond the physical, getting back to speed making reads is another thing all together. I don't doubt he is the guy and the leader we want on the field come august but I would rather have him in october and november than for one non-conference game in august even if it is Bama. The other thing to consider is Exum is a player and a leader, you think he is going to hold back and play smart within his knee's abilities or give everything he can to win the game. My gut is he is a giver (what I love about Antone) and unless he 100% and there is no risk to the knee ... Im saving him for the conference slate. No just from a hokie football perspective but from a Exum future perspective. Sure he got alot of this with RW in AZ as well.
By the by ... is everything kosher with rehabbing over the summer with a friend who has a ton of money?
At OSU 9/20/2014, at Lane 9/19/2015
Brown....me like! Great speed, good power, goes up to get the ball at its highest point....good stuff!
Proehl....video didn't work so I can't comment one way or the other....nice to see we're finding some talent, though.
I would love to see Gayle get double digit sacks! It would help out our cbs immensely if we have constant pressure on the quarterbacks.
If I remember correctly, having the coaches write recruits hand written letters everyday was one of the ideas Shane brought in.
Do we go to them first? or do they come to us?
I think it would be cool to go up there and see us get the W!
There are still 12 more 2014s to be found. Some big names could come in that group and rise to the top.
That's funny... Too much weed smoking at Jefferson, so he then ends up at Bishop Ireton. I knew some people that went BI, and pretty much everyone I met was a rich kid who did a lot of drugs. It's the only time I've ever seen people actually want to do Special K.
According to Grohl's Wikipedia article he went to TJ before it became solely TJHSS&T, and also apparently his mom had him transfer to another school at the end of his freshman year "because his marijuana usage was affecting his grades".
// Note for Joe: weren't you going to underline links?
Funny you mention those two as those were the exact two I was thinking of. Grohl's Wikipedia page says he went to Jefferson for a year, then transferred, so I don't know how much credit we should get for him.
I think the planetarium reasoning was used for Thompson and Goodson, but I don't really know. I never really knew them much, other than that they went to Woodson and played for the Braddock Road club team. One of their Braddock Road teammates went to Jefferson with me. The soccer coach at Woodson was pretty well plugged into the NOVA/NCSL soccer scene and also ran a soccer camp, so I think he probably had a hand in it somehow. Just a guess, though.
When I was in high school, Woodson
Rereading, I see what you mean, but I thought you were implying you went to Woodson. Since I've brought up alumni, I guess Jefferson's Dave Grohl ended up being pretty good at this music thing...
And you are right, Abe Thompson and Clarence Goodson did not live in the WT Woodson area, but both attended and played soccer for Woodson to win the state championship in 99 and 2000. I have no idea how they got around that.
I did the exact same thing, I saw the colors and them hitting the top of the frame and I just freaked out and thought they stole the hokies entrance
I'd buy one. Probably easier to sell those than t-shirts based on cost.
me and the girlfriend and a few other friends... 368?
So of the three they list only one is actually in his current final 2. Way to go 247

I like Noah, he's stated that he wants to win every award possible, the heisman and all that good stuff, that's the type of guy we need, someone who is hungry and wants it all
