If I was a girl, and a guy questioned whether I was in fact a girl, I would take offense to that.

As the horse said, it's good to treat people good. Especially Hokies.

I think a close loss in a game like this hurts more than a blowout (and IMO 10 points can be a close game). Kinda like that Duke game when they beat us on the half-court shot. You just feel, as such a big underdog, that in a close game you deserve to win more than the other team.

I'd just like to point out that he's wearing the orange jersey. I know we go back and forth on this site about the uniform colors and, in the spirit of full disclosure I'm an #allmarooneverything guy, but these recruits seem to love the orange jerseys.

I don't have any update on Harrison, and I certainly hope he signs the dotted line come February. But let's remember, when Lockhart de-committed, we got Josh Stanford (hope I'm right on my history there, that's what my memory serves, anyway...). And, Stanford will probably lead the team in receptions this year (my guess, anyway). So, while recruiting can be exciting/heartbreaking, let's remember that for every super-star recruit we lose, there is a Grimm/Tyler/Chancellor waiting in the wings, ready to come in and over-achieve.

This article is fuel in and of itself. I looked at it the other day and saw the last 'reason' they gave was this:

The biggest threat to Alabama in its first game against Virginia Tech doesn't involve the Hokies at all.

Yeah, if this isn't going to light a fire under someone then I'm not sure what will. The threat of A&M two weeks later is a bigger threat to Alabama than VT itself? A&M AIN'T ON THE FIELD! Eat me, BleacherReport

In rough numbers, there are approximately:

25 5* recruits
100 4* recruits
1000 3* recruits
4000 2* recruits
10000 1* or less recruits who walk on to every program in the country.

so, yeah, more 3* kids make it than 5* kids.

How are you guys realistically looking at this Bama game? I see a lot of intangibles pointing our way:
1. We're due in a game like this,
2. They're due to lose a game like this,
3. Overall, we have seen these "dynasties" generally last about this long. Off the top of my head, going back now 20 years, we have seen Nebraska, Tennessee, Miami, Florida (twice), Ohio State, LSU and now Bama reach this point of "they just reload, nobody can beat them" level. Bama looks great, but they could lose a game early and lose some confidence/invincibility, have a key injury or two and lose enough of those tough SEC games to finish 8-4 this year.

But all the other "tangibles" point to us getting frog-stomped.

So, does losing 24-14 leave you satisfied? Or do we really need to win?

Does that mean they don't have any additional football roles? Will Billy not be on the sideline this year? Is Cav not coordinating on-campus recruiting any longer?

By they way, I don't have any interest in memorabilia, but that's still an impressive load and I'm really glad you had the perspective not to throw it away. Somebody will take a lot of joy out of owning that stuff.

Very high quality reporting from the bleacher report, as we've all come to expect. *ahem*... But still, I'd like to see our players take a look at the comments and see if that doesn't start a fire. Definitely some pretty scathing stuff in there.

WVU will be at home this year. I've never been overly impressed with VCU. They're definitely obnoxious to play against, but Michigan showed why I'm not that impressed with them. Considering we're going to be practicing against a full court pressure all offseason I expect us to be more prepared for that game then people are expecting.

Watched that game on a tiny little TV in my grandma's house that night. Fantastic game. I've seen it twice more since then. Definitely a good example of David putting a whoopin on Goliath (and then taking his head and slaughtering his brothers, etc. etc.)

bad means good? what a country!

I haven't seen PRP mentioned in any articles about his procedure, but he was treated by the same doctor as Griffin and Peterson, so I would be surprised if he didn't get that treatment.

He definitely is getting stem cell injections from Dr. Andrews during rehab.

Couldn't agree with you more, French. After watching him run live in a couple of scrimmages since he arrived on campus, he has shown the ability to be relentless, burst through gaps with little-to-no hesitation, lower the shoulder and lay the boom, and keeps moving downhill. All of these are important elements that our running game severely lacked last season. In order for Lefty's offense to function, we need to have consistent positive yardage and an end to the feet shuffling behind the LOS; Edmunds appears to be the best solution to this issue.

Awesome stuff.

Joe, for what it's worth, I wonder if it'd be possible to think about setting up a sub-forum area for buying/selling/trading Hokie items. I'm always in the market for interesting Tech stuff and eBay is pretty limited on the cool treasure-trove stuff shown above. Don't know if any other TKP folks might be interested in that?

Just by seeing Exum and other players on social media, he's providing inspiration for the Bama game just through his hard work during rehab. He's doing his job right now, even if he doesn't see the field until October.

Thanks everyone for the responses and thanks TKP for letting me share my stuff with everyone here.

For those that have bought stuff, I plan on shipping them tomorrow for those that need shipping. For those still interested, prices are fairly reasonable and if you don't think so, just come up with an offer and I'll try to work with you.

Edit: Also, not football related, but also acquired recently, framed AD Vassallo picture. Taking best offer and mostly looking for local buyer as it would be kinda hard to ship:

Him and coach Cav are chillin* up in the abyss working for the monogram club. I believe that means they work with alumni and such. *Read chillin as they now share an office after both having really big offices.

I pretty much agree with everything French has said.

QB: 1) LT 2) Leal --- No Chance this changes

FB: 1) Biero 3) Jerome Wright --- Definitely see less use of the fullback w/ more use of a halfback or slot. Think Edmunds and JC are cut and go guys that are better utilized without a fullback.

TB: 1) Edmunds 2) JC --- Feel like French is right that Edmunds will be special. Still think JC will receive a fair amount of carries possibly up around 9 a game, Auburn's #2 back last year averaged around 8 per game.

SE/FL --- DJ Coles and Josh Stanford probably primary with Knowles seeing a a lot of time. I could see a bigger Coles playing a lot in a HB role with Stanford/Knowles on the outside. Think there will be a lot of sets where all 3 WRs could be on the field.

TE: --- Hoping Ryan Malleck has a great year in an offense emphasizing the TE. Hopefully McCray gets some burn and develops a family connection with LT. I like the future of TE with Jackson and Redman.

RT: --- Gibson will be a really solid RT from all I've seen.

RG: --- Feel like Benedict is the best run blocker VT has. Thinking Benedict fits the mold of type of lineman Grimes would have recruited with nastiness.

C: --- Andrew Miller, think he was just moved around in spring to get more depth at center with others snapping.

LG:--- Mark Shuman might develop the nastiness that Grimes likes. Think he's too talented not to play and he did end the spring at LG. Could see Caleb Farris pushing him in the fall. Mark Shuman might just need Grimes to light a fire under him to get the most of his potential.

LT: --- The young stud McLaughlin that came out of nowhere to start in the Spring. Think it's interesting how he came from being taught by Shuman's dad at Fork Union to then taking the spot at LT that was presumed to be Mark Shuman's.
