Wow....bummer! They did Paterno wrong. I guess if I lived near another campus besides VT I might think about it. But I've already decided my next non-VT football game will either be a Redskins or Ravens game. Never been to an NFL game either.

I got to go to the PSU/Nebraska game two years ago - the first game since about Jesus where Paterno wasn't the coach. My week that week went a little like this:
Me: "Self, I think this will be Paterno's last game at Beaver Stadium. This Sandusky thing looks like it is going to explode, and this is the last game of the season here in State College. Buy those two tickets your coworker has and walk over for this one." (Estimated Ticket Value: $55 apiece, face value)
Me (next day, Paterno says the administration should not worry about him, and he will retire at season's end): "Self, good call on getting those tickets. This will surely be Paterno's last game at Beaver Stadium, and your first. I'm glad we'll be there." (Estimated Ticked Value: $1 million dollars)
Me (two days later): "Well Self, it was a good idea. But now that Paterno has been fired, I guess I get to see the first game after the Joe Paterno era." (Estimated Ticket Value: < $55)
Me (at game with a friend): "Wow look at all those empty seats in the next section. These bench spaces are about eight inches wide, let's go sit over there instead"

I've only been to VT games. I don't think I could bring myself to pay for a ticket if VT isn't playing...

I believe he's camping at VT in July. We'll probably know what's what after that.

Ultimately, recruiting is won on the field by winning big games and championships (pretty much what bar1990 was getting to). I along with everyone on the message boards have speculated on the other reasons for not being considered by the elite recruits consistently. While we are talking about things we wish could've gone differently or changed though, the pass interference call against USC in '04 is a big one for me. I know it is a lot of speculation, but that knocked the wind out of the players and I honestly think we may have won if not for that call. That would have been huge for us as a program. The other is Boise. If we don't lose that we don't lose to JMU, perhaps still go undefeated and maybe wind up in NC game. I know Stanford blew us out, but they exploited a weakness (the TE blown coverage/mismatch they identified after the 1st half) that another team may not have been able to. A lot of speculation and pointless talk anyway since what's done is done, but just two games that I think could've changed Tech's perception.
We threw that game away. I don't want to hear about it anymore.

Interesting, originally it sounded like he only wanted to be a Hokie. Hope those PSU folks are just trying to stir up something because it would stink if we loose this kid to them.

Agreed, especially with Kyle Field being overhauled to become one of the best college football stadiums! Also, it would be neat to have the games be the military appreciation games with both Corps of Cadets.
Who do you think from our current roster can crack the top ten? I think Knowles has a shot, maybe Coleman.
