I was at that game, and froze my ass off in the miserable 34-ish degree drizzle. Snow would have been sooooo much better. But the win was a great one!
I thought this thread would have a Katherine Webb pic...

I'd take:
Alabama vs. Virginia Tech (+17, 48.5)
Virginia Tech at Georgia Tech (+1)
North Carolina at Virginia Tech (-6.5)
Pittsburgh at Virginia Tech (-13.5)
Virginia Tech at Miami (-3.5)
Virginia Tech at Virginia (+10)
I think Miami stinks. I was shocked we lost to them last year, but I think we (and a lot of other people) will beat them this year. I also think UVA stinks. UNC and Pitt are well coached and will give us fits, maybe both to beat us. Bama, of course, will beat us, but it won't be embarrassing.
I posted this to Teel's article, but thought I'd add it here as well:
I would swap Duke and North Carolina with Florida State and Syracuse and drop crossover rivalries in favor of two rotating crossovers in an 8 game schedule. .
That gives these divisions:
Atlantic: Duke, Wake Forest, North Carolina, NC State, Clemson, Boston College, & Louisville.
Coastal: Florida State, Miami, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Pittsburgh, & Syracuse.
Advantages: Maintains most of the meaningful rivalry games, North Carolina schools play each other every year, Virginia tech plays rivalries with Miami, Georgia Tech, and Virginia every year. Florida State and Miami, continue to play every year. 4-3 balance of what I would consider top 7 ACC teams (Fl St, Miami, VT, GT vs. NC, Clem, Louisville
Disadvantages: Atlantic teams loose annual games against a Florida team, hurts recruiting for those teams. Coastal deeper than Atlantic, with a stronger lower half.
Edit: one more advantage, players would be able to play all of the ACC schools at least once in their playing career if the rotation is set up correctly, with a guaranteed home game against every cross division school every 7 years.
Also one more disadvantage, we don't get to see Florida State choke against Wake every other year.
I always remember what my OL coach in high school told us..."I want you to be able to run up to the line, look the guy across from you in the eye and be able to tell him where the ball is going, and you to block him well enough that he can't do a daggone thing about it." Preparation (can you say film study? I knew you could!) practice, and flawless execution. Those are the keys.
Whoa, cut him some slack. He's a horse...on a treadmill. Just be glad he didn't type:

No, 09, it shows your appreciation for the fantastic series of South Park
A photo of a #BB shirt on the Saban statue would pretty much win the internet.
He played WR as a FR/SO
These spaces could be allocated to those with luxury boxes, the type of folks who aren't big tailgaters anyway. Covered parking would also help keep the Benzes, Caddys and BMWs cool during those sunny 1pm games too.
Yea, but the only possible result that would lose you a VT bet would be a GT win. It's essentially a pick 'em game with a push at 1.
Did you not just read what he said? The primary donor made it a condition of their donation that the building be named Torgeson hall... money talks.
I'm pretty sure this says we are going to win by 1. Correct me if I'm wrong, it took me a couple of seconds to understand this.
Coach Hughes seems to embody everything being a Hokie is about. Here's to a quick recovery.
That was a great game to watch. Wish I had a shirt from it. I wore my VT 28, UT 10 Sugar Bowl shirt from 1995 to the gym the other day. Got a lot of looks, especially from a guy wearing Longhorns gear, LOL!

# | Bitter blog - A closer look at the proposed sites for VT's indoor practice facility Is there a reason they can't use the soccer field and the other fields that are right across Spring from Lane and relocate those fields farther south along Spring? Looks like there'd be plenty of space, they could use some of the rec fields for the new soccer fields, and just build a few more rec fields in the undeveloped fields at the south end of all of it.
The building would be close to the outdoor fields, and they could even put in a pedestrian bridge over Spring if they were worried about pedestrian safety. Those bridges aren't very expensive, and you could work some architectural treatments into it and make it look real nice and complimentary/gateway-ish. Maybe put plaques in honor of special Hokies, past players, notable alum's, etc.
Edited to add: I like the idea of preserving the Stadium Woods on campus. I know there are other old growth stands, etc., but I think having an old growth stand of trees specifically on campus is an enhancement compared to a lot of other universities.
Is it sad that the first thing I thought of when I read "fake Internet dollars" was this?
You know what I mean! Main ACC rival.
Anyway, a couple more articles:

If the season remains the same length, wouldn't that limit schools like Clemson to the exact same non-conference schedule every year?
They won't name anything after current employees. The guys that payed for the new locker room tried to name it after Beamer but the school wouldn't let them.
I'd take the GT game, hands down. I don't think we lose that game with our defense being so damn good. I'd have taken the Bama game at 22.5, but not at 17.
Unfortunately, Backstreets closed about 3 months ago. Food was definitely good, and the lunch buffet was a great deal.
How's the sizing of these shirts? Anyone got them can post up a picture. Not sure whether to get a small or medium for a girl
I can't believe I forgot about it because at least in mid 90's it was frigging awesome, but I used to LOVE Backstreets. They're pizza, they a pizza buffet, the other food..mmmm....manicotti....
Loved me some Backstreets. It was there a few years ago when I was in the 'burg to help my niece move into her apartment.

I still say the Stadium Woods is the best site for the facility.
