Agreed. also, Something is off with the proportions in that photo I think...
Haha, was hoping for horseontreadmill bucking off the cav...
bummer i was really hoping the news would come this weekend, hard to stay this patient
The other thing that should be noted - even if they were to build a new facility on the stadium woods site, there would need to be significant grading and earth-moving. So in addition to removing some very old trees, there would be a big disturbance to the site.
So from a landscape architect's perspective, building the facility in the nearby lot minimizes the construction problems on the stadium woods site. Also, that gameday plaza would be a sweet addition! That would be a really cool feature for the general public and one that really isn't a possibility in many of the other locations due to space constraints.
i had a feeling this thread was gonna get all. . . .
for the record i'm in the put it somewhere else crowd. there are trees there that are over 300 years old, some pushing 400, older than blacksburg itself. the southgate lot doesnt hurt the storm runoff situation (building in the woods would) and the mitigation plan would create 70 more spots than there is already. put it there.
A year around Genty, Loeffler and the dining halls has me excited. That 50-yarder on the run is impressive and he shows some nice wheels when he needs to. Happy he's a Hokie.

Yo I'm all about #BeatBama... But let's be real.
Girl got game.

# | Bitter blog - A closer look at the proposed sites for VT's indoor practice facility I'm all for an indoor practice facility...
But saying that demolishing one of the most unique ecological sites in the area is "common sense and good planning" is a little short sighted. The stadium woods are LITERALLY irreplaceable. Just because you don't see any value in the stadium woods doesn't mean that there is no value there.

# | Bitter blog - A closer look at the proposed sites for VT's indoor practice facility I wish nothing more than for them to build this thing and get some recruits to check it out. But this is more than about tearing down old trees. Branding/recruiting is huge but not not pissing off half of Blacksburg is bigger. A parking lot is much easier to replace than the perception of the University.
Serioulsy, can we get past the "old growth" nonsense and stop worshipping plants? They are trees, they grow up, they grow old, they die and they fall down. New ones spring up and suddenly we have "new growth." Why can't we harvest them, plant 50 acres of new hardwoods somewhere else, and build where we need to build? I love forests just as much as most everyone else, and I have flown at low altitude over all of Virginia, and I can tell you that we still have lots of big, healthy forests. Plant a new forest twice the size of the stadium woods, and build the stupid facility there.
I know it will never happen that way, it just irks me to see common sense and good planning take a back seat to emotionalism and sentimentality. Oh well, let's choose the second best option and get it built. Unbelievable.
If they opened him up, did they find one of Chuck Norris' fists... or just a handle-grip from a Total Gym?
If only you had outsourced this job to China. Just to ship this shirt to me would cost more than the shirt itself.
It may be worth it, however. I was in the subway the other day (wearing a TT jersey) and some guy came out of nowhere and said "Fuck hokies, roll tide!!!!" ---> Being in China I was so stunned... I couldn't even respond before he exited the train because I was in a state of disbelief.
Yeah ---> and she looks 35. I don't see what the deal is about her.
Cheers
Usually, that means you'll have one-on-one outside, since the safety is more concerned about taking away that skinny post over the middle. Then, it's a question of who's got better speed/ball skills and if Logan can make that throw deep down the sideline, or even a deep (10-12 yard) out or curl, since the corner will be worried about getting beat deep with no safety help.
That's fantastic. Turkey leg for you.
I will try my best, I know the good Lord will be watching over us as well. Thank you for the kind words!
C'mon, be realistic, the new Hokie offense will destroy every defense it encounters with huge numbers! This is a foregone conclusion.
If you search #BEATBAMA on twitter, you can start to find a whole lot of butthurt Bama fans getting all mad about a T-shirt and it brings a smile to my face. Thanks, Joe!
I honestly have no idea, I was extremely surprised by the O'Keefe selection considering he only had 5 appearances on the entire year and several of them were sub-par. Even though he was on several teams radars coming out of high school, he has only pitched 27.2 innings in all three years at Tech...chances are he doesn't sign with a major league team this year and hopefully can contribute to a run to Omaha next year along with Burke and Markey
I get where you're coming from, but we only beat them by three this year. At home. I know we've dominated the series recently, and we've got a few blowouts in the series as well, but looking at last year, I wouldn't bet money on three touchdowns. That's not to say three touchdowns would surprise me either, I just wouldn't bet on it.
Any insight on why O'Keefe was picked and Burke wasn't? Other than the fact that O'Keefe is a lefty...
Colin O’Keefe was taken with the 997 overall pick (Round 33) by the LA Angels

Touche Should've realized.
