Cassell houses pretty much every varsity sport and those fields are within walking distance for the teams. I know football is the money maker, but administrators have to look out for all of the sports. Recruiting is the driving force in pretty much every decision made by administration.
He is a tough man and I'm sure will have a speedy recovery. Get well Pete!
Here's a video on Cornwell if you haven't seen enough of him http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/9353911/david-cornwell-es...
No the ACC members (Maryland excluded, Louisville included) just signed that grant of rights agreement through like 2030. If we left for the SEC the ACC would still have rights to our TV revenue. Or at least that's how I interpreted the article when everyone signed it.
Tyler Horan was taken in the 8th round (Pick 252) by the San Francisco Giants and Jake Joyce was taken by the Washington Nationals in the 9th round (Pick 286). Didn't see the Joyce pick coming because you don't usually see college relievers taken that early, but he did have an outstanding season!
Lol the picture on this article. The first thing I thought of was "we're going to have a quarterback with Alabama QB hair"
the whole was wide enough for an actual hurricane to fit through, but yeah he was gassed lol
the bama point spread is insulting, i'll take the points all day long on that one
would look pretty sweet on a shirt as well. . .
I think I'm going to take it with me wherever I end up on my way to Atlanta, and take a picture at each place along the way.
Dang it, that would've been awesome. You were the first person to have to wait on the second run of shirts, my apologies.
More I read about Cornwell, the more I want him on the team. He took time off to take care of his mother. That's a high character kid that embodies Ut Prosim. #allamericanboy

Western Pennsylvania all the way
If the Bama line is actually +17, I really like us to cover that, but only just.

That's awesome! +1
I agree, especially with the offense line. It seem Virginia and Florida have always been good for Virginia Tech for skill positions, but to find offensive linemen have proven to be thorny. Hope the new staff are hitting the Rust Belt states hard for linemen.

"I asked Cornwell about his recruitment Friday, and he said that with the eligibility issue out of the way, he will take a visit to Virginia Tech next week and then will be ready to make his decision."
I saw that too, and it is making me wonder if the campus administrators are preparing for a possible lateral move to the SEC? I know publicly Weaver have professed undying love for the ACC, but privately, I have to wonder.
All eyes will be on the Maryland's lawsuit which, according to this Washington Post report, is still on-going. If the court rules in the favor of Maryland and overturn the ACC's exit fee, it may spell trouble, and this is definitely something everyone needs to keep an eye on.
Every time I read the point spread, I go
.
Give me the Miami and Virginia Tech game. It's one game that could go either way. Miami's defense is expected to be improved while their offense reestablish their identity, but they have that running back who was lights out last season. I am sure Virginia Tech would like to atone for that horrible performance off a bye week. The best thing to come out of that game was Logan's Run for 73 yards. Boy was he gassed after that run! I still can't believe he outran the entire Miami's defense.
The fact that we're recruiting in places other than Virginia and Delray Beach, FL feels like a breath of fresh air to me.
Sounds like he won his appeal. Regardless of whether he ends up coming here, I'm happy for him. Congratulations
Excited to announce I have been declared eligible for my senior year at Norman North. Thanks to everyone for the love and support. Pumped!— DC5 (@DavidCornwell5) June 7, 2013
Nope, Saban is just three apples tall.
Those fields get a lot of use from women's and men's soccer and women's lacrosse. They have all their practices there and it's used for games on really wet days since its a turf field.
edit: also moving the fields to the rec fields could hurt recruiting. The walk to those fields isn't close and they would have to redo those fields to make them NCAA quality practice fields.

How about some Carol Lee donuts? Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
