Meh, if Pelini wasn't their HC I'd be able to tolerate that more. I'll never forget the '07 LSU game where his defense shut us down. Yes, I realize that we won the series against his Nebraska team, but that LSU game still haunts me.

Andy, I noticed that you said on your twiiter account that no press cameras were present, but I saw video from the scrimmage on our local NBC affiliate here in Charlottesville. It's not on their website, though, and I was wondering if tech's athletic department pursues things like that and makes them remove the video. Any idea? Also, any official (or for that matter unofficial) word on attendance yesterday?

Glad to be on here. I appreciate all the kind words. I'll try to do more than just dump my links here and log off. If you've got questions about stuff, I'll try to answer as best as I can.

He's right, I was somewhat impressed with their 8K fans. That's not bad, considering, youknow...they don't care about football.

I thought it was interesting that they moved it to the 12th practice instead of the 15th. That's basically London admitting that he doesn't think the fanbase will support the spring game like a legitimate program. Basically, he cancelled the spring game and had an open scrimmage.

That may be a bit generous...

A look at the RPI of all teams in Virginia:

#24 VCU
#76 UVA
#92 Richmond
#162 George Mason
#177 Virginia Tech
#178 Norfolk State
#182 JMU
#271 William and Mary
#287 Hampton
#288 Liberty
#302 VMI
#316 Radford
#318 ODU
#332 Longwood

While the RPI isn't the most reliable of measures, there is a pretty clear gap between us and the top 3, and we are in a pretty tight group of 4 teams with a large gap over the next group, meaning somewhere between 4th and 7th in the state.

But VCU is hands down the best team in Virginia right now.

I think UVA would play them pretty hard, especially earlier in the season. VCU seems to play better ball late in the season. It should be a fun game and a fun opponent regardless.

Holmes may have hit the holes hard against Cinci, but he didn't do it for the rest of the season. You keep saying that if he has blocking he can produce, the same can be said for JC. He hits the hole with reckless abandon every time and with that mystical blocking actually taking place he has a chance to get a much bigger gain with his speed. Don't mean to sound down on Holmes and I'll absolutely support him whole heartedly if he's in the game, but I think JC is a better option given blocking and the carries.

you can tell he is still learning the WR position, Really could not tell too much from the scrimmage for him because the d was all over the qb. He ran routes like a robot out there, but the fluidness will come with time. I don't think he played any wr in high school, so he only has 1 fall of wr under his belt.

I have watched Caleb the past couple of springs in hopes of him living up to all the hype he had surrounding him out of high school. I'm not saying he won't eventually be a great player but from what I saw yesterday, he is still at least a year away from contributing. There still seemed to be a lack of effort there however I'm hoping that it was due to the fact that everytime he was on the field, Leal either got sacked quickly or the play was rolling away from him(not an excuse). Hopefully someone will flip the lightswitch on soon because I still believe he is an outstanding athlete who just hasn't adjusted to the college game and the new position.

aint no probably about it. they are the best team in the state. we are a fairly distant third.
