Is that REALLY something you want to hang your hat on???
Some of your blogs have been very insightful and I appreciate them wholeheartedly!
I think that you will see a lot of going between JCC and Edmunds this season. A two headed monster is a GREAT thing to have!
If he transferred... he'd be able to play immediately, since he'd be dropping to FCS.
Kinda funny, with the big losses (Bama, Boise, Stanford...) and last season, I guess we all just kinda forgot that CFB is just one heck of a football coach.
I'm pretty OK with it, actually. A little attitude won't hurt that defense.
Hey, at least we're leaps and bounds better than Radford...
I hope that he's bought his own bicycle. And one for his friend....
I agree, but couldn't help but chuckle when your "admire" comment reminded me of...
Rocky Horror Picture Show - Dammit, Janet
Hey Janet (Yes Brad?), I've got something to say, (uh huh?)
I really loved the skillful way...you beat the other girls to the bride's bouquet! (oh...oh Brad.)
Super excited about Dadi Nicolas. Hearing all these good things in the offseason combined with what we saw at the tail end of last year, I think he could be really, really good for us.
Thanks!
That kid was actually pretty fast for a 7 year old. He could probably start for UVA right now.
I actually kind of root for Nebraska after our series a few years ago. They've got to be some of the nicest fans ive ever met in my life. Since then I've always kind of had a soft spot for them and its just gone up about 100 times thanks to this video, kudos for a class act
Congrats on winning! Although "Worst Picks Ever" was kind of a misnomer.
TV stations can film open portions of practice for B-roll or background footage on newscasts. What Tech doesn't want is for fans to record from a distance, giving away formations and stuff.
Attendance was OK. I'd call it a smattering. Not too much. About what I expected on a Monday.
Is this where I brag about my bracket?
Related to the post, I think this article just underscores what great hires were made this off-season. CFB made a master chess move bringing this new coaching trio in that fulfills so many requirements:
- Coaching synergy- there from the start with Grimes and Loeffler, and Moorehead being a former successful walk-on just fits in the VT culture
- toughness and technique in both the OL and receiving corps
- LT3's progression as a QB- Logan gets some yoda-like coaching, and the team and fanbase gets a stud to lead them
There are more, and we all have discussed them, but I really admire the way CFB elegantly stitched them all together with this trio.
Firs' Years, this way!
I always thought Coles was best used on shallow routes and picking up YAC by beating the LBs. The kid was a RB in high school so he's got the moves. I'm excited that they are looking to get the ball in his hands more. Our philosophy has to always get the ball in our playmakers' hands often. We did that with Ryan Williams, Tyrod, David Wilson, etc. Last year we had Logan and Marcus Davis when he decided to show up. Unfortunately, you need more than just one playmaker on a team.
I do love how versatile DJ Coles seems to be. However, I do have some concerns that having Coles catch passes in the flat also opens us up to the possibility of the end-around, and we DO NOT need that garbage returning.
I think as long as he can catch balls and be a complete WR I'd say they leave him as he is. Obviously the primary goal is for him to be a wide receiver, so if he can't be a solid WR at his size then they'd slim him down. I'd think.
Based on Franks quotes it will be interesting to see if they slim DJ down some or if they keep him bulked for this new hybrid role.
