So student season tickets are up this Thursday, I'm assuming tickets for this game must be right around the corner then, right?

That Vick run against Syracuse to ice the game should be considered. That play was one of many that showcased his unbelievable speed.

Quimby as BC is nice since Quimby is a Boston/MA stereotype.

Sean Glennon is VT's career leader in completion percentage (min 500 attempts). Not once did TT beat him in passer efficiency head to head (TT did have two better years after SG left). By the numbers he is one of the top 10 QBs all time at Tech.

What he didn't have was great scrambling ability once the inevitable breakdown of protection happened. He probably should have thrown away more passes to avoid sacks (and fumbles).

This makes it look like VT is perfect fit for the SEC!

I've always wondered how they "measure" the effort for those awards. Must be pretty difficult, since only 3 guys out of 85 scholarship players made it.

From what I have seen, a lot of prospects show a lot of love for a school they have visited. Seen pictures on Twitter with them wearing all the gear at the facilities, and saying something about how great of a time they had. But then, the next week, they hit up another place and say the same.

Hand has 5 schools he has in his top list. I think all of these are still up for grabs, and based on what I've read and heard from him, he will definitely check each one out before making a decision.

So at this point, I'm not worried. Can't go through life stressing out about stuff like this. He has quite a while before he truly has to decide...

“He has his own recruitment thing and I have my own,” Hand said. “We don’t like to mix it. Of course reporters ask all the time if it’s a “duo deal” or blah, blah blah. Nah, man. I want a school to like me for me and he wants a school to like him for him. We want to keep it that way. We’re not going to go to a school based off each other.

“When we get together, we don’t even talk about recruiting. Football shouldn’t run your life. It should be more of a hobby. Of course we’ll have to get more serious about it, but the ultimate goal in football in high school is to have fun. We don’t really treat it as a business.”

A little off topic, but I was up in Columbus recently for work and one of the students at tOSU said that they by far had the best campus food in the country. After he refused to take my word that VT's was better I had to just say Shut up- we're #1, look it up. You could bring up anything, and I mean anything, and they will blindly argue that they do it the best, no question. I found it comical.

I hope you don't fill out your bracket to live up to your name

There are more former Hokies or former Hokie commitments in the NCAA tournament than UVA fans at their Spring Game

A quick Q&A with football strength coach Jarrett Ferguson

I sat down with Jarrett Ferguson, Virginia Tech's Director of Strength and Conditioning for Football, for a story I'm doing a little bit down the line. But I also asked him about the Hokies' offseason conditioning program. He had some interesting stuff to say, so I thought I'd post it.

AB: How has the offseason program gone so far?

JF: "We had probably one of the best training cycles where the guys wanted to get it in and get the training regimen done. So the guys came in and they knocked it out. No skipping or anything. They did everything to a T, every rep, every set. That helps us out when the guys want to do it."

AB: When do you start that?

JF: "When school starts, we usually give them time to get their class schedules and stuff, and then we start. We had such a long break. We came back. They had that Monday off and then we try to get them into the program and try to get them into groups and stuff."

AB: Do you hit it hard from the beginning?

JF: "We jump right in, because you basically have seven weeks to train before the spring break. So what we do is train six weeks, seventh week is testing week. So with that, we jump right into it. We kind of scale it down. With coach [Mike Gentry], we do a periodization scheme, so they start off with a little higher reps and then we gradually progress down. And the reps go down and the weight goes up every week."

AB: On the video on Frank Beamer's site, it looks like you do three-rep maxes on some lifts.

Exactly. I've never been to Michigan before, but I'm sure if I visited their campus and football facilities I'd come away impressed. It's a great school with a lot of tradition both academically and athletically. Tech will have their opportunities to impress him before it is all said and done.

Also, this caught my eye this morning.

It'll be interesting to see if his cousin's recruitment plays a part of the process at all.

I am Bobby Champs Bubble Bracket

I think that he's coming April 6 .. and I think he may be back for the spring game as well. I think it'll come down to VT and Michigan ... Those two are definitely standing out ...but the other three are not out of it.
