I realize this was before many people's time, but Bobby Steven's buzzerbeater to win the NIT Championship (when the NIT was a big deal) in 1973 over Notre Dame has to be somewhere. Chosen by techhoops.com as the Greatest Moment in Tech Basketball history click here. For the story of the season, the team was also chosen as Greatest Team on techhoops.com, see theACC here. Worthy of consideration.

Still one of the best crowds ever - still get excited watching. And TV actually shot West Stands and I could pick myself out on replay.

I was there for this one. A great crowd in the days when we didn't always have great crowds. The days of Dell Curry sinking threes before there were threes - shooting from the Gobbler on the court before we had a Hokie Bird. And the seniors (if I remember correctly) coming back out to thank the crowd after the game. We don't have lots of basketball to talk about, don't forget this one.

What a great game - thankful for the comeback and possibly the BEST crowd ever at Lane. I'd never heard piped in music during the game before, much less Enter Sandman. Still smile thinking about it.

Without this run and successful kick, we never go to the National Championship - by far the biggest thing we've done. Biggest Football Moment.

Can't count out this year, which isn't even finished. 5 wrestlers that have been ranked throughout the year, 8-3 against top 25, won The Midlands and Virginia Duals, won the ACC and has all ten wrestlers qualify for the NCAAs with a chance for a national champion or two and multiple All-Americans.

could be wrong, but think the UNC thing is a reference to Swofford

I know you said you dont want to argue this anymore... but I wasnt trying to compare us to 'Bama. Rather point out one team that consistently has a good running game with a large RB rotation. If you wanted, I could have used Wisconsin as an example. Yea their line is better than ours (whos isnt) but our running backs are generally better.

You could even use us in 2010 as an example if you wanted. We had 4 players with over 100 attempts, and none with more than 150. We had more yards that year and a higher average per attempt at least since 2007. Sure we had a bunch of studs in the backfield that year, but RMFW was hurt half the year, DW was still a sophomore and our line was arguably one of the weaker ones we've had (weakest line being last year probably).

My point isn't to compare teams, but to point out that a RB rotation is fine... IF its not just random rotations and you call plays to each players strength. Dont have Holmes do sweeps. Let Gregory and Coleman go to the outside etc. As long as they players know the gameplan and what the coaches expect of each of their runs, I dont think a player has to have 20+ carries a game to get a rhythm going. I'd say if you have the RB talent (up for discussion obviously) 10-15 carries each is enough to keep the players rhythm while keeping them rested the whole game.

I want to see a highlight of tackling machine Brett Warren and that nasty hit he laid on Heward-Bey in Lane Stadium. That was a nasty, nasty hit. I thought Warren would cut Heward-Bey in half.

Unfortunately, the new rules are going to hurt the defensive backs now because one tap, they could be ejected. Which is absolutely ridiculous.

First time I have ever seen this clip. Loved how Lee Corso wore the T-shirt, but that whole experience got to be very gratifying to see.

I get goosebumps every single time I see this clip. I love seeing the little kid jump along with everyone. The Force is strong with the little one.

Where did he go to high school? He's from Appomatox, VA. For those that don't know that's like 20 minutes east of Lynchburg.

Agree for the most part, but nobody can reasonably expect a roaring stadium when our worst team in 20 years is either killing a team like Bowling Green, or shitting a brick against Duke (first quarter).

I am a die hard fan. For some reason I enjoyed watching this team even when they struggled. I just like Hokie football. While I went to every game and yelled at shitheads sitting down or being crappy fans I disagreed with all of the people blaming stuff on the current students. I'm sure there were thousands of bandwagon fans/students in the previous years, but they never went through a 6-6 regular season to distinguish those fans from the diehards.

I have no doubt in my mind that the stands will get better with the team, but the fact of the matter is that most people like to watch an exciting and winning team. That has been the case since Beamer started coaching in Blacksburg.

But Boone hurt his AC Joint on that hit, and struggled for part of the rest of the season... Huge hit.
