I'd rather beat FSU, because the 2000 Sugar Bowl was a traumatizing part of my childhood. The 7 year old me was forced to go to bed with VT leading at the end of the 3rd quarter (it's quite possible my dad knew what was coming next partially because he has a cynical view of the sports world being a Hokie, Cubs, and Vikings fan), and let's just say the next morning was not a good one. I still hate FSU because of this and consider them our second and a half rival behind LOLUVA and our half rival (because we don't play them in football anymore) WVU.

If Exum can't go, then I believe it will be one of those two. Manning has been putting on some serious muscle this offseason and Riley seem to be in the right spot the few times he was out there last year.
I see Kendall getting on the field no matter what because from what I've read and heard, he will step in for Kyle when Kyle slides down to nickle.
Cequan has good film and hopefully learns the D quick because depth was the issue last year and as long as the sophomores/r-fresh take a step forward and these freshmen live up to the hype, depth will not be a concern this year.

I'd love to see Kendall on the field and I think he will get his shot, but I think Torrian Gray has earned the right to figure it out and he will make the right call. If Manning gets his head on straight he might be the answer. Truthfully this is all for naught because Exum will be back thanks to the "stem cells" injected into his knee and attitude/desire. Even if they don't clear him he will steal a jersey and play a la Junior from the Gridiron Gang.

Say that Clemson and Florida State both go undefeated other than against each other. I'd say Clemson is more likely to get a berth in the BCS at 11-1 than FSU would, on the strength of playing both Georgia and South Carolina.

In any case, I would find it extremely unlikely, considering the pedestal that ESPN has built for the SEC. No way we don't see at least one SEC school in the MNC game this season.

Like how about beating Clemson in the ACC Championship Game, and then FSU in the BCS National Championship Game (I belive an at large can still get put in the new play-off system). Also if we beat Notre Dame in the BCS semi's that would make the perfect season for me (I grew up near South Bend and if you listen really close you could always hear a group of people circle jerking over Notre Dame and their football history). I mean I would probably be crying tears of joy solidly until the next spring game if such a scenario happened.

I just hope the fans show up in force for every games this season and witness Grimes' coached OL destroying every defensive linemen enroute to Charlotte. Then when the Tigers line up against a very tough, tip-of-the-spear OL, I want them to be shitting in their pants on the first snap. Then Dabo can wail about being thumped by the Hokies, 76-3. The 3 points coming because Bud Foster allowed the defense to rest.

They haven't just beaten us three straight times, they've pretty much had their way with us.

Our biggest loss to FSU since 1989 was by 17 in the 1999-2000 MNC game. We've lost 3 straight to Clemson, all of them by at least 20. That is the team we have more to prove against, and that's the team I'd rather face in the ACCCG.
