Haha I think 3 schedule-related threads are enough. And I did the same thing, no worries

I was going more for all the "inconvenience" we'd be saving them. With shared tv revenue, I agree the school's profit difference would be small

If "the border of campus" equals "in the middle of campus" then yea I guess they're stadium is in the middle of their campus.

EDIT: oops, meant to post this in response to Joe's post about the clemson letter

I actually checked the board first and didn't see anything, and then after I posted I did. I had spotty internet service and only my phone handy so I couldn't un-publish.

That's why I said that "we should get Weaver to call". Bombard his office with letters and phone calls and such, make sure he knows what the fans want, hope that he makes the best decision for the fans and not necessarily the best business decision.

My ESPN comment wasn't saying they were "shutting us out", just that Clemson-GT is a much more enticing matchup this year than VT-Maryland.

The fact that you mentioned that abortion of a band, nickelback, shows how emphatic you are about us getting the raw deal.

the difference financially is pretty low for us, and while the extra exposure would help as far as recruiting goes I don't know that it would be worth "millions".

I can't speak for everyone, but I don't want to believe that or AD is so out of touch with what (I think) most of the fans want. This is almost as bad as the NHL partnering with Nickelback. There better be a damn good football reason

I said it above, but I'm told it was Tech that didn't want to host a Thursday night game, not the ACC or ESPN shutting us out. I wouldn't be surprised Clemson is taking our "spot".

Jim Weaver should offer to take this terrible burden off their hands for a couple million dollars

They went to 5 straight bowls from 2006-2010, going 3-2 in that span beating ECU, FSU and Clemson.

We should get Weaver to call them and ESPN up and perform a quick trade, I'd happily take Maryland on Thursday night on a short week than not having any Thursday game at all.

Not that ESPN would even consider such a trade, giving up Clemson-GT for VT-Maryland...

both teams will definitely be top-15, and we'll almost certainly be top-10 unless Bama takes a dump.

Oh yeah, I forgot UK. A school who's football team has sucked so bad in recent history that even Duke football has fared better.

You mean play a schedule in a conference that takes football seriously across the board? A conference where we don't play the snoozers of duke, Maryland, and wake forest (we can't help it with uva)? A conference where our level of play and recruitment shoots upward? A conference with lovely Southern coeds at each venue?

Yeah, I'd like that a lot, actually.
