I think it's more that AA is about to lose the Big East blog, and it seems like they are doubling up on more of the conferences now.

Between his academics and the "incident" that happened in boys bathroom one day at lunch (maiming charges were dropped) I'm not sure he would have been all that successful even if he had made it here
TCU wasn't a member yet. I think they had to pay something but not a full exit fee. The Big East fought WVU until the Big East was able to get Temple to join for this season, at which point they settled. They needed 8 teams for the 2012 season; once that was filled WVU was no longer needed and a financial settlement could be reached. WVU wanted to go immediately because the Big 12 wanted and needed a 10th team for TV purposes.
As stated earlier, the ACC really doesn't have any sort of motivation to cut MD loose early or for cheap. I also imagine that they aren't pleased with MD's comments stating that they believe they can get out for cheap.

To address your travel point you forget UK and Vandy also possible for travel. Also the popular theory on SEC expansion is that NCSU would go with us so that would be another travel location.
As soon as I saw it upside down, I thought, well that looks exactly like the way the team is playing. 5 moregames for green to tough it out then on to next year where once again this team will be mostly shooting guards and power forward sized big men. At least the wrestling team knows how to win in cassell. Tomorrow is the first televised womens game so as always attendance will be rocking in the 200s, followed by Sunday's doubleheader.

That is when Dee was their head coach. We used to have a mini pipeline there. It seemed that every BCS caliber player from there came to VT except Philip Brown who we backed off of.
I think Smith's son was a kicker and UVa and Groh didn't renew his scholarhip in bis 5th year. We actually signed a player from Hampton the year before Newsome and Taylor came to VT Todd Nolen i believe but he didn't qualify and went the JUCO route. Never heard anything from him since.

Personally I ignore ads and don't give anyone traffic. But I could potentially be offended by ads for something I don't like. That would put me at odds with the site management. I don't want the pursuit of money to override the site content.
The other thing would be the advertisers exerting editorial pressure on site content.
It is a slippery slope.
