By the looks of it, Hand may be anxious to get the recruiting process over with which is definitely a point in our favor, as it won't give other schools (read Bama) time to sway him away from us. A spring game commit would be HUGE and would probably greatly influence the rest of our class.
My thoughts are that he will commit by the Fall so that he's not having to go through this during his senior year and can focus on school. He seems like the kind of guy that isn't trying to ride out the free trips and attention. I'm hoping to get up to see him play this Fall as well as see Moss and Mihota since they are close by.
Turkey legs are awarded when and where turkey legs are deserved, based on quality of the substance of the post, IMHO.
I'm not saying it doesn't matter, beating 'Bama would be a statement win, one the coaches could use on the recruiting trail. However, we were able to land Holland Fisher, when 'Bama told him he'd be the next Mark Barron. I wonder if that potential win would matter more, or less, to in-state or out of state kids.
I wonder when hand will look to commit? He already shut down his recruiting for a bit to focus on school.
I'm taking a break from the recruiting process for a while. I will not be contacting any coaches until march. I need time to focus on school— Da'shawn Hand (@TheHand54) February 6, 2013
Having him on-campus for the spring game would be huge if he's looking to end the recruiting process early.
I'd love to see Tyrod start. As a Raven's fan, I don't know how you can trade Flacco. When was the last time a Superbowl MVP has been traded? Never?

You can see the progression being made on some throws especially not having Alex Carter this past year. He's a great athlete and it looks like to me he shows better mechanics, footwork, zip on the ball as a junior than Bucky Hodges displays on his senior tape. Feel like he would make a great safety but also feel like he could develop into a special QB as well.
It will help with our quarterback prospects as well because both Park and Cornwell hold offers from Bama. Cornwell seems very interested in them so a win may go a long way in swaying him to our side.
Anytime we get love from the Gameday crew we somehow screw it up.
We need everyone of these guys at at least one of the junior days or the spring game. Preferably the spring game. Oh, and beating Alabama would help tremendously.
They should set an amount and give away a TKP sponsored BEATBAMA rally towel.
the environmentalists got their way and they agreed to find an alternate location. Bet on it being built across from Lee (where the tennis courts are now). The problem is the "war" over the trees cost the program over a year of design/planning...and with the performance of the team last year, the donors got a little cold on the idea. Word is the facility is 3-4 years delayed and may not be built before Beamer retires.
Hell, he might wear it.
I also want a new sound system. The fact that ALL the sound (PA etc) comes from the scoreboard is crazy. Invest a few $$ and put speakers all the way around the stadium. It has to be insanely loud to reach the southern end of Lane. We sit West Side and my left ear is ringing and numb by halftime from it...I'm fine (and happy) to be ringing from crowd noise...just not the hokie vision cheap effects.
We don't need the crowd noise piped in (ahem, BC...ahem, LOLUVA).
...BTW - that's another thing...we have good creative/computer students, let them design something better for the graphics and effects...currently they're just plain cheesy!!!
It was a package deal, just a matter of price and getting the money from IMG. Both Lane and Cassell will be done this summer, with Lane going in first. From what I have heard/seen, the one in Cassell will be bigger and higher up, with the catwalks being removed and it basically fitting between the big air vents on the wall.
What I hear is the trees are sacred in the Stadium Woods. What I really know is that is a favorite spot for students to get stoned before home games, which explains some of the resistance.
I say build the damn Stadium Woods Practice facility and be done with it!

You can't just 'make it aerodynamic.' It's still got to be a big flat TV screen. Not like you can shape it into an airfoil or something. I think you'd just have to reinforce the crap out of it if you wanted to go that way, but you'd probably be better off finding another place for it.
Alabama has four. If we beat Alabama we better install 5.
Enlist the aerospace engineering department to make it aerodynamic.
That could work, right?
Or maybe something else.
Tyrod to Philly seems like a good fit, unfortunately.
McSorley looks like an excellent athlete in his sophomore film, but I'm going to have to point out that it looks to me like he stares down his intended receiver from the snap (unless the play calls for a fake or he has to roll out, improvise, etc) and most of his throws are to wide open receivers. Obviously as a sophomore you have plenty of time to improve on those things, but it's hard for me to judge his QB play when the WRs are blowing by the defense at will on most of those highlights.
Polk obviously has great speed but the highlight at 1:18 made me laugh out loud. The entire offensive line is 10 yards down field blocking on that bubble screen before the pass is thrown.
My concern would be the height of the stands and the wind at that height. While I like that design, I feel like the wind that whips through the NRV might have an adverse effect on it if it is that high up. I could be wrong, but that was my reasoning for going against that design as an idea.
I pointed out that you can see most of it in the south already. And we can put it on top of the south or in one of the corners. We have options. Any major football stadium has two screens. I think it would be worthwhile to the fans/students to have a second screen, that's all.
Like Bank of America does. However, they would most likely need to be substantially bigger and there are a million other things I'd rather spend that money on.

The article doesn't suggest trading him. The scenario suggested is that the Ravens, not wanting to sign Flacco to a deal making him the highest-paid qb in the league, Franchise him, and then the Browns offer him some absurd amount of money ($30million/year). The Ravens then can't match that, so Flacco goes to the Browns, and the Ravens get 2 first rounders from the Browns as compensation). I don't see that happening, myself.
