Kirby Smart (DC) would be slotted in as the replacement, I believe.
How long is the notification for a press conference usually? I feel like if they have a press conference, we will know from people like Andy Bitter, David Teel, Mark Gianotto and all the other beat writers right away and we can all jump to appropriate conclusions regarding the topic of the press conference.
the press is salivating to have a ND offseason lovefest. I can't stand ND.
Bama's scheme could be very different in 2013. I wonder who is on Bama's short-list for successors, if Saban leaves.
I forgot about that....her too!
Can we get an interview with Johnny Football tonight (with model/girlfriend on arm)?

that this applies only to offensive recruits. The other side of the ball shouldn't be affected, one way or the other.
If a good hire is made before signing day, you could pull in some kids you might not have gotten otherwise, and you likely will keep most, if not all, of your verbals. If a good hire is made after signing day, you keep your recruits, but may miss on some who might have changed their mind. If a bad hire is made before signing day, you could see mass defections. A bad hire after signing day, you could end up with defections/transfers after a year.
It all depends on who is brought in....the better the hire, I think all the better to make an earlier announcement. With that in mind, I am in full support of CFB scheduling a press conference to announce Pep Hamiliton at noon today.
A.J.'s girlfriend

Here's why:
Let's say ND wins tonight. Well, the aging sportswriters of this great land will surely fire up a massive circle-jerk for the potential to have ND and resurgent tOSU in the National Championship next season. Their 1960s midwest-biased collective stroke session will last deep into the season whereupon ND will lose to a shitty opponent (Air Force sounds like a likely candidate). However, because they'll win out against powerhouse football schools Navy, Pitt, BYU, and Stanford, the Kornheisers of the USofA will do all in their power to put ND in the National Championship game again...this time against Corch Urbans Meyers'ss (Corrine Brown reference) the Ohio State University.
THIS CANNOT HAPPEN.

the Dark Lord Saban....can't stand ND...didn't like Brian Kelly when he was at UC, either. On the positive side, if Bama wins, the possibility of seeing more of A.J. McCarron's mom goes up.
if even one player leaves early because they win the national championship, it's worth it for them to win
Let's hope. Should ND win, I believe he might die from excitement...or from drowning himself in his own saliva
I think it is a mistake to wait till after signing day because then you end up with players upset at the fact that the coach they wanted left. Plus I want players that want to be Hokies and make our program great.
I just don't want to hear Lou Holtz blathering on about Notre Dame. I want them to lose purely because of how annoying that man is... And I want them to be getting rocked the whole game so I don't have to hear him at halftime either....
Bama has at least earned their moon-sized egos...
and I dont disagree with you but it happens quite frequently. Lets hope that it all turns out well and that we get a coaching staff in place with one direction on offense.
Granny Holtz will probably break his hip before the game...
for a good game I love bowl season but a lot of the games have been boring this year
won the lunch pail. Won't mind him toting ours for a few years, in a few years.
Not true, if the OC hired is a good recruiter, especially with strong ties to the NC, VA, DC area. Hmm, who would that be?
The amount of defection will be minimal. Unless VT hires a scrub for OC who couldn't talk his way out of paper bag.
Also, it is completely unfair to the incoming class to NOT make coaching changes until after signing day. The incoming class has the right to know who their coaches will be. If they don't like the new OC, they have the right to defect.
im just real sick of the sec i just can't bring myself to pull for bama
When you take a group of students with below average admissions metrics, why do we celebrate how many of them graduate? Shouldn't it be harder to graduate from your school, not easier?
What do I dislike more, Nonstop SEC love or random bandwagon fans??
I guess I'm just gonna root against SEC tonight...
WHY COULDN'T OREGON OR KANSAS ST WIN OUT?!

anywhere from an hour or two to the better part of a day.
