Best idea I've heard all day
if anyone has already posted this, but I saw it floating around twitter last night.
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap2000000108535/Week-14-D...
That video should have all of his big plays from last night. So great to see one of our own doing well, and I really hope this is just the first of many huge performances by Wilson.
No, there won't be. You won't lose any turkey legs that you've acquired over time or anything like that. The only way to lose them is by getting down voted. It's not about posting in bulk to jack up your count either, favor quality over quantity.
In my head I'm thinking it will work something like this:
Anyone with >= -38 turkey legs can comment. That means all new users who start off with 0 can comment, and gain points through up votes. Users with a negative balance can still discuss things and try to swim to the surface. Users who dip below this won't be able to do anything on the site, and probably for good reason. (See what I did there, -38-0.)
Anyone with >= 5 can vote on other users' comments.
Anyone with >= 10 can start new forum topics and write blog posts. This will eliminate heat of the moment post-game reactions from users who just want to get something off their chest and never be heard from again. It will also force the new folks to get their feet wet in the comments before taking center stage.
Does that make more sense?
Also, none of the restrictions listed above are in place yet. And they probably won't be before spring ball. And even if they had been, all 3 of you would have been able to post the exact comments you did because you're >= -38.
Way too much smoke this time around and I think a lot of people take for granted how much winning means to Beamer.
Thanks
I also think it's an interesting idea, but with Vick as a backup you may have to dress your #3 QB more often than you'd like. He'll probably see the field more than most.
I have a bunch of friends at Maryland, if you know anyone that goes there they can get you tickets for around $30.
Any other year I'd agree, but there seems to be a good bit of smoke this time for there not to be anything 'causing it.
At least you're honest about it.
I yelled so loud (Hit the hole, hit the hole, go go GO!!) at the TV when Wilson got the hand off on his 50+ yard TD run that my 3 year old and 5 month starting screaming crying. Had to spend the rest of the game explaining to my 3 year old that I wasn't yelling out of anger?!
Really psyched for DMFW, was a hell of a break out game. Still has a ways to go. It took Bradshaw a couple of years before he gained Coughlin's trust.
I like the theory, but I don't see Shanahan going for it; just feel like they wouldn't get along personality wise. But then, what do I really know?
Anybody would be an improvement right now, but comparing him to anybody else on the market doesn't favor him. Hiring a guy who wasn't good enough for JMU won't wow anybody.
there's already murmurs that buffalo is interested. have you watched the cardinals? they couldnt do worse than what they already have.
Yeah, I'm really surprised it's not considered excessive celebration.
I don't watch pro football, but Wikipedia says "In 2006 the NFL, in an effort to cut down on celebrations, amended its rules to include an automatic 15 yard penalty against any player who leaves his feet [etc]"
having been a long time reader, and then months later finally registering, and then months later finally deciding to add my 2c, I'm hoping to not get cut out of all the fun for being late to the party. TKP is a great site! Thanks for all your efforts!
Any thoughts on Mike Vick's future? A lot has been said about him leaving Philly and I wouldn't blame either party for wanting a change. It just hasn't worked as planned there. I thought that going to Washington would be interesting. The Skins could use him to back up RG3. RG3 will never be fully healthy through out the entire season (similar to Vick), but they would not have to change the offense at all for him. I think if their current back up continues to play well, then it won't happen. He is from that area and would be well received. Any thoughts??
anything at this point. I cant bear to watch another dismal season of poor blocking along with poor playcalling and execution. The team needs a change, what we have been doing hasnt been working at all. I would personally take either coach.
I am in the same boat. I LOVE this web site, but struggle to chime in a whole lot due to family, work, etc. The Key Play is by far the best site for VT info and the absolute best for game analysis. My father and I look at this site and discuss the topics all the time. Keep it up!!
So used to playing in January...
Hokies win ugly. Low scoring game, something like 17-10 or 14-10.
Im just trying to boost my turkey legs!!!!!!!
think they called him "Flip Wilson"
20-17 VT in a very sloppy game offensively for both teams. I think in similar fashion to the UVA game our offense will give points to Rutgers by way of turnovers and we will cling to a field goal by Journell at the end. I would like to see us get the W and move on to the off season and see what changes Frank has in mind. GO HOKIES!
HCFB on this one. Todd Washington's NFL experience would be a plus in recruiting, but the two of them are going to be evaluated by Frank if he chooses to consider them and we won't know anything until the deal is done. Would prefer Washington over Malone for the higher level of competition he reached, but willing to consider anyone new as a potential improvement.

Seeing that just made me so very happy for him. Always want to see guys succeed in the NFL.
