On the jet-sweep option read you highlighted above where JC came across the mesh point but LT kept it and ran it up -- seems like LT did the wrong read (though he got good gain). The DE froze and didn't pursue JC laterally, which mean that had LT given the ball off, you could see that the blocking RB (Gregory?) would've take care of the LB closest to the LOS, and all JC would have had to do was to run past that block into mad open area (the screen freeze you show highlights this completely). Thoughts?
You can be disappointed for sure. Even complain. But don't boo. Think about it, you're there to support your team and do anything possible to help us get a win. Booing might even snowball the situation and just make him even worse.

Quack -- PAC12 football is like an eagle's mating ritual. Fly high, clutch talons, and swirl until the bitch falls off. Chip Kelly aint no bitch.
LSU -- I made the mistake of thinking that this team was just a heavy rock opponents carried around for 60 minutes until tiring out and giving up. Has some bite too.
Iowa State -- Mike Gundy's a man. Men win. Just not by 2+ TD's sometimes.
Florida -- I've heard Lattimore is out. DERP.
UNC -- Transitive property is dumb but if our OL could push around Duke's D Line. LAWD.
Kansas St -- I've been bullish on these guys. WVU will come out inspired but Bill Snyder's crew is a greased up machine.
I thought LT really lost that first game against Clemson all on his own. He was tentative...then awful. Boyd and LT are buddies, and LT needs to at least equal Boyds production. Boyd won that battle twice last year, by a large margin the first time.
Secondly, we need to be able to run it. In a perfect world, this is where we turn LT into Cam Newton and run him 25x. But, what I hoped our offense would be this year...it hasn't been so far. So, we need our running game against their defense to equal their running game against our defense. I don't think that is too much to ask.
Third, yes, they have great receivers...but this Marcus Davis guy...pretty good too. Their secondary, not very good either. I don't think the difference in our passing games it that wide of a margin. Tackle, keep the guys in front of you, don't give up big plays.
Finally, win the hidden yardage. It's easy to say "we need a ST's return" or a block. But we need a couple 15 yard punt returns. We need a KO return to the 40. We need to have 45 yards of penalties to their 90. We need Detrick Bonner to not just intercept a ball, but return it 35 yards to put us in scoring position. We need them to fumble a shotgun snap but recover it for a 14 yard loss. That used to be such a big deal to Beamer, he would reference it after every game. The hidden "Beamer Ball" component. But look at that stuff at the end of the game.
I think it will be a very close game, with two of the best PK's in the league. Somebody will make a FG at the buzzer and win 30-28.
...Dukes #54 is really slow." He's the LB who could have cut that play off at the sideline and limited JCC to a 12 yard gain. But, he didn't, he took a bad angle and had no speed.
Why? Benedict released to get to that backside LB, a block that isn't essential for the play to be successful. But, when you get that block, the play goes from "success" to "points." Watch Benedict on that run, he hits #54 hard enough that the LB staggers after contact, probably loses our diminutive TB in the congestion, then can't recover anywhere near in time to knock JCC out of bounds right after the first down like he should have.
That play had three very interesting blocks. Clearly, Phillips killed it on the kickout, but that was more for effect. A simple shield would have worked just as well as his pancake out-of-bounds. Malleck did the work on the play, sealing the edge and effectively blocking 3 guys. And Benedict made it a TD with his effort. Beautiful.
work is fantastic

Ducks - think they blow that spread out of the water
Aggies - LSU away and a noon game, let down from last Sat
Cyclones - Okie St not the same team from last year. ISU has better quality wins.
Gators - Cocks are worn down, Clowney and Lattimore banged up.
'Heels - because what BCO said
'Neers - I don't see them pulling a Klempson, expect a bounce back.
Go Hokies
Don't be so hard on yourself. I wouldn't know where to begin. Hence the reason why I don't post pictures, videos, anything other than plain formated text.

Okie St. - "You'll get this Big 12 showdown and like it. Iowa State plays defense. Okie State plays offense, Pick one. Move on to the next game." So pushy! BTW VT covers the spread

It's an arrangement of Beethoven's 5th with just the main line. And yes, it is usually planned for 3rd downs. We used to have a specific set of songs we would play for each down, but that changes occasionally.
Save the booing for the NFL, those players are paid to play.
College players shouldn't be booed. If a player isn't doing his job on the field, it is the coach's responsibility to replace that player.
I agree with Joe, None of our players deserve to be booed.
Oh. Right about the one called back.
Only problem is that since Beamerball's rise to prominence, every team in the nation has been asking us how we coach special teams... And we've been openly sharing what had previously been sacred knowledge.
So I don't feel as if that kind of special teams explosion is really in the cards anymore... And it's incredibly unfortunate.
One of them was called back, but boy did it demoralize everyone in that stadium...
That's the easy way, but to avoid some of the Charlotte/Statesville traffic, I usually go through Hickory (I40 + 321)
I know Greenville's about 8 hours driving from NOVA (grew up in GVegas)
While I generally don't support Booing, if fans are going to cheer for a player making a great play, they have the same right to boo the player for inexcusable play. If LT3 over throws on all his pass attempts, Marcus gives up on deep pass that leads to an interception, and the offense goes 3 and out several times, getting 30 yds of offense in the 1st half, then Boos are deserving.
It's ok for a fan to be displeased. It's ok to display your emotion as a fan. The players aren't 8 years old, they can handle it.
3 Return TDs would be nice...
This would be a great game for it. Dreaming for a repeat of the 2007 VT-Clemson matchup.
Ducks - Bless your beard, BCO, for that picture.
aTm - Every time I watch LSU, the less impressed I get. Also, #JohnnyFootball.
Pokes - Iowa State is better than they were last year. But OKST won't be surprised again, and I can see a revenge game at home getting out of control very quick.
GATAs - No Lattimore, no Clowney.
Carolina - Of course their best year in the ACC will be the year they can't play in the postseason.
KSU - I think Holgo will have the Cousins back firing on all cylinders, but I picked the Snyder Cats to win the BIG XII earlier in the week and daggummit I'm sticking with them.
No problem. There's not really any secret route (81 to 77 to 85). One point I was trying to make is that most VT fans travel from NOVA, Richmond, Tidewater, and Charlotte rather than Blacksburg, yet we often hear about the distance being from the town of said school. Thanks for sharing your passion.
Yet I missed the mistake. Thank you and I have since corrected. Also, with regard to transit time. I didn't calculate for people who actually knew the best route between the two because they make the trip about 10 times a year and am sorry as well. Thanks for posting.
This is probably it, I think I just noticed it for the first time this year (which is pretty surprising). I noticed that they played what I'm thinking about most of the time when the other team just gets a third down (so it's played before third down) but once I heard it during second down so it might just be what you're talking about.
Imperial March (Star Wars) is what you're thinking of, I believe.
And they play it when the defense comes on the field. Have for a long time.
That's the one I own. Love it
