if you're talking about scott demler, then this is not true. i know him and he's a really nice guy who worked hard very hard. a combination of a chronic injury and then nerves from being booed are what made his punting so sporadic. if you ever watched him in warm-ups then you would know that he had a hell of a leg.
That's what we like to hear.
I knew a guy too, I lived with the bball team manager 2006-2008. Seth was a great recruiter and sweet-talker, so it's no surprise recruits decommited when he left. However, these great recruits came in and immediately realized that things weren't what they seemed, and that Seth wasn't the great guy they thought he was. I'm convinced these players are happy to be playing for another guy, as Seth was not the best coach to play for. Lack of motivation. Just look at players like Delaney, Green, Vassallo, and Allen that would give Seth lip on the sidelines during games and not care about anyone seeing it. That shouldn't ever happen, and DOESN'T happen with other good coaches. There was a rift there, and now I think they're excited for something new.
We need pressure on Boyd to make him do stupid things, otherwise Foster will start bringing the blitzes and they'll burn our corners all day. Keep everyone underneath. Our coaching staff should watch how Texas Tech shut down WVU, forcing them into short passes and making the tackles. Our corners are great tacklers so we should be able to mimic that. On offense we're going to need to start taking shots, Clemson just all out blitzed last year and played press coverage. LT3 seemed afraid to take a hit while throwing deep. He needs to stare the pressure down and make those big throws, that'll reduce the blitzers and open up the run game.
and invited some folks too
Terry Holland still has the naughty pics of Jim Weaver.
Somebody should make the entire team watch the 2006 and 2007 Clemson games. Inspirational material for sure!
and oh yeah....2006 game was #ALLMAROONEVERYTHING!!
I agree, 'Shane' did have the best intentions trying to unite Hokie Nation, but he's a bit of a newcomer and didn't realize the extent of what he was trying to do.
on the player. Lots of former players seemed to be unhappy, and while I'm sure Eric Green is happy to play in an up-tempo offense, I don't necessarily think he's saying anything bad about Greenburg. Not to mention, we lost the highest rated (would be) incoming recruit in the programs history because he loved Greenburg (how he would have felt after 4 years of stagnant, pass the ball around the top of the arc offense, I don't know).
As for this year, I guess there's some "nobody believes in us" potential but there's also a lot of "clearly the worst team in the ACC" potential. I hope we have a little more up tempo game, but I won't be reading too much into how JJ does as a coach until he gets starts getting some depth back in the system.
Not to get all "I know a guy who knows a guy" but I do lol. Guys who are starters were considering transferring before Seth got canned. I heard it all year and from what I understand it was the love of VT that kept some of them there. JJ is very popular among the players and they want to succeed for him.
Seth was a prick case closed, and like the Beamer/Saban discussion we had a couple of weeks ago; sometimes players respond to yelling and cussing sometimes they don't.
Don't believe anything 8-Ball says, ever.

that he came to games still hungover ... and from the looks of his twitter, he parties a lot ... so fuck that -- he deserved to get boo'ed ... i've seen middle-schoolers who could punt better than him ... it was pretty obvious to me that he didn't put in the time -- even as a punter .. if you don't wanna put in the time, do the team a favor and move on
I get that we were in a bit of a pinch for the next couple years after the ACC announced an 8 game conference schedule, but was it really necessary to extend the contract past 2015? As we supposed to be excited about playing ECU for 8 straight years?
I mean, it probably doesn't matter since I doubt we would schedule anything more than difference MAC/C-USA teams anyway, but personally, I don't like playing the same mid-major semi-local team that can start to view us as a rival while we will never see them that way every year.
Hope Logan runs out of bounds and trucks Dabo into a coma #BeatClem
Basically she said that I was attacking the people that decided to start the blackout movement.
Apparently, I was being rude to "Shane" and everybody else that was trying to be "spirited."
I replied, "If you want to be spirited, be spirited wearing the team colors. Black isn't one of them."
haha the first picture is hilarious!
"Most of our guys have never been to Death Valley," Spurrier said. "That is the Death Valley, isn't it? Or is there another one? There's two of them. That's right there's two Death Valleys. Was LSU the first one or the second one? They were first? Oh, okay."
I'm not sure why. Did you copy and paste it into your browser?
Hopefully this one is better. Even though it's the same link.

God damn - I hate them.
rocks on rocks on rocks
We didn't have 41 second half points at dook; we were down 20-17 at half, but I know what you meant. And as far as I know, there are only 2 Death Valleys, LSU and Clemson. Florida is the Swamp.
Otherwise, I totally agree. I live in the great state of Sakerlina, as BeerControl would say, and don't want to come to work on Monday embarassed. If it's makes anyone happier, USC fans have our back as they hate Clemson more than we can imagine.
Go hokies, #BeatClem
I think you may be over-thinking a bit. I still remember when word first got out, how stunned all the players were. I know Greenberg had a snotty reputation with media, officials, etc., but he had a special bond with his players. Many threatening to leave until they realized they would be getting a familiar face back. Just the other day I read Raines' tweet about how Greenberg texted him "happy birthday" and how he missed him. I don't think Green was throwing shots, I just think he wants to get the fans excited for this season by saying things are going to change after such a disappointing year last year.
"To be honest, if Mike O'Cain doesn't call a terrible game like he did twice last year, VT shouldn't have much trouble putting points on the board."
There is some truth to this statement... I still can't figure out why so many WR screens were called in those games when they were obviously not working. Hopefully we see the team come fired up because if they don't and get down early on the road, we could be tiger bait.
