Has been like finding an oasis in the Sahara. Thought all of the in-depth coverage like TSL would cost me and I refuse to pay for information that ought to be free. Looking forward to many happy years of reading the comments of Hokie faithful and soaking up the analysis of those with the time and experience to do it right.
why Coleman was a highly touted back coming out of high school while playing at the highest level in-state. Hopefully, Shane will realize who our best home run hitter is in the backfield and stick with JC starting, using Gregory and Holmes as change of pace backs. Loved seeing how quickly JC gets to the edge and then makes his cut upfield decisively.
I really think it would be bad for morale (JC and the entire team) if they don't go with the guy who crushed it this week...what's the incentive? play for performance...we need to get with that.
I know we've been saying that about the receivers, but this performance really was breakout for our current backfield.
Turkey dinner...
The next three games will be feisty. Let's go Hokies!
Deathrow,
I'm in.....70% of these 'tech fans' only know what they read in the roanoke times.( Godforbid) Plenty of good schools (Southern Miss, Memphis, Tulane, Cinn, Arizona, ect) had the same chance Tech did in making their school into a 'not to be taken lightly' team. Tech, historically, comes to play, and if it weren't for the media hype, would be 'sittin' purdy' in the said football pecking order. To have a serious 'national contender' once every ...ten years..?? ....is such an accomplishment for Tech, Beamer, Tech football, and the state is an accomplishment to be envied by a lotta schools. Thing is, Tech 'fans' get sucked in...every year....by the hype. Trust me, REAL Tech fans will know when we have a 'national contender'. They have seen good defense...goal line stands, running backs waiting on a bone crushing block.
To the 'others', the 'fans' who love you while you're winning 10+ a season, well, we'll see ya.
Or maybe, we will not.
and I dont mean to take anything from Mr. Bitter of 'the Times'....he's good! But tech will always be 'Tech'. Hopefully. And if Techs empty 'trophy cabinet' ever gets filled, it'll be Beamers doing, regardless of if he's on the sideline or not.
Now....kick the shit outta Clemson. Stand up, Gayle.
P the B
I think we have found our next great back for the next few years
Marcus Davis is by far our best receiver and the biggest deep threat we have had since Eddie Royal.
Cocaine is a helluva drug
41 unanswered points...freakin beautiful. Just in time for Clemson, Miami, FSU.
I want JC to get the next start. He gives us big-play potential obviously, and it's important to reward his 180 yards...that sends a message to the team.
Obviously the negativity left with them and the team performed better with out em. I say stay home next time.
Is when a large portion of the student section left after the homecoming court was announced. Literally, had some people sit in front of us the entire first half, stood up for the announcement of the court, yelled more for their candidate than any single defensive down, then left after their hearts were broken by the result at halftime.
Fuck em' hopefully they feel like shit when they hear about us having 41 unanswered points to completely dominate Duke for three quarters. I feel like its even worse for the people that left at half. Those are people that truly dont care about Tech football. How can you leave when we have come back 17 points and have huge momentum. I'm guessing the majority of the people that did this were sorostitutes but thats still ridiculous.
I've liked JC more than Holmes all year and I'm happy that we finally had a break out performance by at least one of our backs. I also really liked the way Gregory was running today (who thought they'd ever be saying that?) and I wonder why he didn't get more snaps today. BUT I am still very happy for JC.
... on the play, in trying to pull the ball free, had pulled Davis' shoulder out of its socket. But sideline reporter Mike Hogewood later reported that he was walking around on the sideline, apparently in no pain. So maybe they just kept him out as a precaution.
He had good coverage on the play, it seemed to me. The Duke QB had all day to set up and survey the field, he made a good throw, putting it where only his WR could catch it, and the WR made a good adjustment in his route and a good catch. After the catch, Fuller either simply tripped or got his feet locked up with the receiver's feet somehow.
It seems as if many people no longer go to the game to watch the game, but rather go because its the thing to do...

I just don't get it! What's going on with some of Hokie Nation (not that they're really part of it)? We should be ecstatic to be allowed to go to a VT game. There are other people who would love to go, so if they aren't into it why go? VT games were the best things about weekends when I was there. We really felt like we were part of the game. Get loud!! cause false starts, timeouts, and mess up the audibles!
Would it be possible to make a similar one for the scene right after this where Tony gets shot by that badass (naturally to be played by Hokie Bird) with the sunglasses and shotgun and falls off the balcony?
...is to make him this years Ernest Wilford and throw him the ball 12+ times a game....not bench him as is often suggested.
"That was the first time all season we played team football, and if we give that effort down the stretch, we'll have a chance in every game."
Agreed.
....that we were often in a dime package with 3DL/2LB/6DB with RVD in the game. Was he one of the DBs?
....I'm not sure our best OL isn't Becton, Benedict, Via, Gibson, Painter. If Farris and Wang are out for another week, give agibson a chance to beat out Arkema and let JCC run behind that behemoth OL.
I think Bonner will be a good player for this team this year and in the future. Not an All-ACC starter, but not a liability.
A rotation of JCC 75% of the time and Gregory backing him up with Scales the short yardage specialist may end up successful.

For all the shit we give the offensive guys, that was a good day of playcalling.
