FSU, Miami, GT, AND Clemson? That's pretty much death row for them. I'm not really a fan of the 4 pod idea myself, but if it were to happen, I sincerely doubt it would look like this. Too many rivalries are wiped out honestly.
I don't think that's an option because Pitt's in the Coastal with Tech. They have to play.
the 4 team pod concept is very logical to me. you would rotate though the other teams in the league quicker than we do now and the tobacco road snobs would quit boohooing about how they dont play each other every year anymore.
AWESOME
Florida -- I keep thinking they'll lose but they don't. Coverin.
Cousins -- POINTSONPOINTSONPOINTSONPOINTSONPOINTS
Sakerlina -- Straight up! Connor Shaw may be a bloodied stub by the end of the season
Damers -- Kent State clobbered them in the same manner I think these guys will
tOSU -- BORING
Oregon -- I made this mistake thinking UCLA would cover. dumb
I would love for us to reignite the Mountaineer rivalry with the Black Diamond trophy. I think with the progress that program has made recently that we would at least be adding annual quality to our schedule....the real question is whether WVU would want us on their schedule, especially after the ACC refused them admittance based on academics. Another option I would enjoy would be to see us get the Richmond Spiders on the schedule. They have shown great progress over the last decade and it would be a change from JMU. If we are looking to add just a blowout game, as a former member of the Corps of Cadets, it would make my day to see us put VMI on the schedule. As far as other options go, bringing in a school from a key recruiting area to maybe get us visibility with some recruits that normally might not see Virginia Tech games. Some of the smaller California schools or Texas would be a good add, even if we agreed to a home and home series. Just my thoughts

anger, upset, wanting to smash keyboard....all these things and more. Until I realized it was sarcasm poorly done....if we are trying to come up with something lets make sure it focuses on successfully executing a first scoring drive.
Maybe something inspirational like....If at first you dont succeed, try try again

If they could even just score in the first quarter I think I would be happy.

Damn, son.

The "Stick it in" chant to start the podcast was genius. Dude I loved that cheer (VT '97-'02) and was so happy on the way to work this morning listening to it.
Here's hoping they just bought some uniform items in maroon!
To make room for Bama next year.
I would. Madddddd props on the WWF reference
Its basically too late to get a quality opponent on the schedule. Teams schedule their non-conference games so far in advance, its hard to find somebody with an open weekend.
This is basically the same situation we ran into last year. ECU backed out of our 2012 game to play South Carolina and we ended up with Austin Peay.
The only teams with obvious open spots are other ACC teams, since we're all scrambling. They'd have to be in the Atlantic Division, since we play all of the Coastal (Read: No Pitt). We're going to have to lose either the FSU or UMD game next year.
I wouldn't be surprised to see us set up a home and home with either NCSU or Wake. Weaver loves to keep traveling costs low.
I can see a lot of Hulk Hogan in us. The ultimate underdog. Nobody was giving him a chance of beating Andre The Giant at Wrestlemanina 3, but he trained, said his prayers, and ate his vitamins and look what happened...Hulkamania prevailed. In this same way, the Hokies will roll into Chapel Hill and be in for the fight of their lives. This game will probably define our season, just as WM3 defined the Hulkster's career. If there's one thing I have learned, it's never bet against Hulkamania.
(Also, be wary of the Macho Man cuz he will probably eventually become jealous of your relationship with the lovely Miss Elizabeth)
ps. A rail for my soul is the greatest quote ever
I remember when we played for the national championship in 1999, our goal was not a 12 win season, it was to win 1 game 12 times. We need to get back to that mindset.

"Side note: I'd despise my team if they did something as horrible as forcing out the man that built our program to become nationally renowned... isn't that right Florida State?"
Bobby won them championshipS. Whole different situation than what we have on our hands.
But... Can't wait for Saturday! Hope Exum is at safety where he belongs and hope our offense doesn't wait till 2pm to get a first down. Go Hokies!
That one play, more than any other, defined the outcome. 7 pt. Swing, changed the entire course of the game. Yes, we continue to put up points, but that single zebra call flipped the switch. Terrible Big (l)East officiating.
Sounds like UNC feels the same way we do. Let's hope our anger and frustration gets taken out on the Heels--immediately. If we let them get up 2-3 scores, we're toast. Go Hokies.
It's all about Logan. When he tucks and trucks, it's pay dirt baby. When he sails and wails, fa-getta-bout-it. Let's hope the OC's play to his strengths is game. Oh, by the way, love the creativity on this post. Gobble-gobble.
I love it... But I think it would look slightly better if we had the orange and white stripes on the sides of the pants too.
beer.
had one tonight and one last week at fedex.

...on special teams for a while. I remember Martin Scales caught my attention on KO coverage a few years ago.
