Solid analysis as always, French!
My fiancee almost called off the wedding after how crazy I went after the Beiro block was called a hold. Apparently the future Mrs. atlHOkie was rather attached to the ceramic vase that fell off the shelf and shattered whilst I was jumping around screaming, "His hands were inside!! How do you call that a hold, you squinty-eyed fuck!?!"
Unfortunately while I agree Exum is playing hard he just isn't cut out to be a corner, I am not sure if you just move Jarett to CB and Exum back to safety but something needs to happen.
that holding call was horrendous - I saw the replay and nearly chucked a beer at the screen.
Being from Salem(5 mins from Cole's hometown of Roanoke), I am a fan of his. However, I thought he looked ineffective in the Pittsburgh game missing a whole bunch of tackles. He looked a little better in the Cincy game but I still thought he missed a few tackles. My question is do people think he is the longterm answer at that position if Tech continues to play the majority of their future games in Nickel? Which seems to be the case. Or will he just continue to be our best option, nothing more..nothing less.
Helluva review again French
Farris v. Miller? Seemed like Farris took over down the stretch there.
But I've always looked at it this way. I'd rather have the guy that is willing to drop 80 bucks for a ticket in the stadium than the guy that was trying to sell the ticket.
I wanted to report most of those kids because for starters, it's against school policy. Technically, if they are busted for it, they lose the ability to enter the lottery. I've heard that it's for as long as they remain at the school from some people and for the rest of the year from others. Not sure which. Regardless, it pissed me off. I gave extra tickets to friends that wanted to go to the games. I will only pay or sell for face value and unless they are great seats (first 5 rows or something) I won't ever pay more than face value. True Hokie fans should want to fill the stadium with Hokies. That doesn't mean ripping your fellow Hokie off so you can make a quick buck.
I missed just how good of a block that was when I was watching the game. That is TEXTBOOK. Thanks for the effort French, great work as always. Do you think Logan has dug a hole so deep inside his own head that there is no hope for this season? The expectations were so high. I guess what I'm asking is do you think the kid is tough enough to learn from this and grow, does he have that kind of character?
Ahh...Foster is awesome...You can quote me on that SHIT too!! Classic!
Honestly reading this, I got so mad!!
You folks all put it really well and I fully agree with everything you all said. Clearly this letter is not for us! I just want to say that your all incredibly lucky to live in and around Virginia. Living in London, I cant even get out there at all unless its a flight to NY and then meandering on to Va.
Absolutely take advantage of the fact you can go week in week out, get geeked up for spring game etc, whilst I am at home, 5 hours ahead, trying to find a decent stream online.
#GOVT!!
I saw one of our fellow students selling a student ticket for the Georgia Tech game a few weeks back. He was asking 80 BUCKS for a FREE TICKET that he was GIVEN by the school. When asked why he was selling it, all he said was...
"a brothers gotta eat."
Are you fuggin kidding me?! You're gonna abuse the system just because your ass is THAT greedy to rip off another student who is dying to go to the game for 80 bucks?! Get that weak shit out of here.
I could write a book about our student ticket lottery, but it's late at night and it just gets me more mad the more I think about it. I will say this though, a first come first serve basis would have exponential results compared to this sham of a system where someone that can't even name a single player on the team besides Logan Thomas can enter the lottery at free will (and yes, there are a handful of students just like that). True die-hard fans would show up hours before and wait in line to get a ticket for the FSU game in a few weeks (for example). But instead, tickets are gonna be distributed to god knows who, and in turn, those FREE tickets students were GIVEN by the school will be selling $65 a pop, at the very least, and those students who could bring the student section back to its normal life will be watching it in their room.
It's a shit system, and to everyone who says our student section has taken a downfall, this is what it all boils down to.
Rant over, goodnight.
But I took a fifth year as a civilian. Didn't mind one bit waiting in line to get my tickets that year. Would have done it any year.
As previously stated many times, it's incredibly annoying how many people go to the games just to get hammered and pass out or incoherently fall on people during the game. We need people to go to the game, and support the team, through the good and the bad. There are so many fair weather fans right now. I grew up in Blacksburg and have been seeing this for YEARS. Students have to support the program. This isn't a party, it's a football game.

Anyone who wants to ditch Enter Sandman is an utter idiot plain and simple. It's one of the best entrances in all of sports and people want to screw with it? Ugh it makes me sick to my stomach.
I blame the weight loss. Somewhere in those fat cells was his mojo that has been melted off. Clearly, Coach Beamer needs to sit down at an all you can eat buffet for a few weeks and get his mojo back.
For your protection, this comment was laced with large amounts of sarcasm.
I myself am undefeated in lane, and undefeated on the road.
Neutral site games (0-4)
04 USC
06 Chick fil A Disaster
08 ECU in charlotte
09 Bama atlanta
3-0 in away games, y'all! 2010 at UNC and twice at Rutgers in 99 and 03.
You bet your ass i'll be in the ATL for 'bama!
isn't coming back...at least from the MVs. Our band director has pretty much stated his job is on the line if MVs bring it back into Lane...no matter who or how it starts. Whether or not that's entirely true is another thing...but I don't blame the guy for not wanting to risk throwing away a 25-year career. It comes up every year but athletics has made it pretty clear on that one...as shitty as it is...
i look forward to BeaunerJam's blog posts every week.
Might as well torch the whole thing and start over (just kidding). Just trying to start something playful with all the doom and gloom right now. I firmly believe Enter Sandman is one of the greatest entrances in college football and I am in no way trying to actually change it.
the administration must know
Why on earth would we get rid of Enter Sandman??!!
Exactly. I remember always seeing people waiting in line. They would deserve the tickets over people who think its just something to do on a Saturday afternoon.
(I would've stood in line, but was in VTCC so no need)
For those who don't know, I'm a senior in high school from NJ, both parents are alums, I've worshiped the Hokies since, well, ever.
These students need a reality check. They need to toughen the fuck up. They aren't at the game to have fun. They are at the game to make sure the Hokies win and the other team loses.
I have season tickets in the East Stands, but I believed the NEZ hype and 'sat' there for my first time ever for the Georgia Tech game. I sat front and center of my section and literally cheered my nuts off, screamed my nuts off, high-fived my nuts off, and hugged-as-many-strangers-as-possible my nuts off. I created an energy there, the kids there can attest to that.
As Georgia Tech scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the 4th, a girl and her mom (?!) headed for the gates. As they walked by, I absolutely let them have it. Went batshit crazy on them. They deserved it. Who do they think they are?
The point is, theres only 6 home games a year. SIX. Screw the 'hey hokie nation' thing, screw the paper airplanes. Screw everyone who isnt ready to lose their voice.
I will (hopefully) be a student next fall, and I will (definitely) be at the Alabama game down in Atlanta, and I will (absolutely) raise hell.
LETS GO HOKIES!
I got SO jacked up when this play happened. Our d-line is supposed to be so good and so deep but it seems like they haven't been playing with very much emotion this season (I guess the same can be said for most of the team).
But as one of the best units on the team I expect more energy and fire from them ON EVERY PLAY. I mean we can do line changes like in hockey with them. BRING THE FIRE. I want to see more sacks and TFL's
Loved seeing Harley get buck-wild out there.
LONG LIVE THE TERRORDOME

So you're saying George Whitfield isn't getting a Christmas card this year?
