at 4-0, Notre Dame has clinched a spot in the National Championship game right?
And GT winning a lot more ACC games. So, I think it helped that Miami won, but none of this matters if VT doesn't beat their coastal opponents. But, VT does want each other coastal team to lose at least 2 ACC games, cause VT will have a very difficult time with Clemson and FSU. 6-2 in the coastal should be enough for VT to get in.
I'm glad it's not the 3rd game. All the RBs improved dramatically this week. I guess whatever advice Hite gave to Shane after the Pitt loss worked and Shane got his boys in order this week. They all looked determined to get to the sticks.
That VT secondary is scary, very scary in a bad way. Not sure we can stop any passing offense. Cincy seems to be a running dominated offense, but they seem to pass enough to get first downs. However, Exum is improving, so VT just needs to get a better pass rush and LB/safety coverage to improve. This VT team is a work in progress, so playing the most important games later in the season is vital to their success.
Both polls have Bama, Oregon, LSU, FSU one through four. I strongly believe Alabama has earned first place. They've dominated all challengers, are defending champions, and have the best coach in the game. Oregon made a strong case after dismantling Arizona, but I can't help to remember how slow the blur looked against SEC defenses. LSU struggled to put Auburn away, but winning on the road, at night, in the SEC isn't trivial. FSU might have the best resume win of any team in the country.
My top four:
1. Bama
2. / 3. Oregon / FSU
4. LSU
We needed GT to win yesterday. It would have given us a game lead on both. Now the winner of VT-Miami will probably take the Coastal. All of that other BS about "signature victories" and "appearances" is silly and meaningless.
Why do i care if the ACC isn't respected? So some SEC yokel doesn't talk shit at the water cooler? Who cares, UVA losing is a lot better than that.
This is only their 2nd game and first on the road. We know more about our team than they know about theirs. They're probably feeling pretty good about themselves considering they beat Pitt. I think Tech can win this one going away if we play with the effort we saw against GT.
25th in USA Today and would be 30th in the AP. And yeah, I think they use the AP.
I agree, but it's so hard to actually root for uva...
I think for us we REALLY needed the additional games to prepare and start working out our kinks and getting all the newbies some good experience.
It's 3:30, it was announced at like 1:00 AM. (LOL)
Where it says "new" right next to the thread title, could you make that stand out a little more. Cuz when I'm just glancing down the page and a new thread doesn't have any replies yet I sometimes miss it.
Any improvement you would like to see to it? I'm considering hiding the right sidebar, so the "What's new?" \ Tracker is wider. Thoughts?
Bowling Green held us one point less than Virginia could last year. That is all
Gonna agree with all the comments here, the tracker (AKA What's New?) is actually my permalink to the site.
Only in-conference games! You always have to cheer for ACC teams in out-of-conference games!
Yeah, Fuller senior seems to have disappeared the last 2 games. I don't get it.
Did having TG in make anyone else wicked nervous? The whole time, I was just waiting for him to fumble...
Just spent a few minutes with 'what's new' (should have done that before my first post, obviously...) and i'm hooked! Glad to know it's there, and I, like others, prefer it to navigating the 'recently active forum topics' bar on the right. Good lookin' out Joe.
every day to keep abreast. But I'll be perfectly honest, didn't know the 'what's new' link was there. So if others like that, I'm up for a change in operating procedure! Regardless, content is just absolutely magnificent, and I am so grateful for all that you guys do. Thanks!
As a whole, a great rebound effort picking this week, only a couple people bombed it.

We want/like to see UVA lose no matter what lol.
They use AP, I believe.
Because, really, is there any other point to pre-BCS rankings?
If we're going solely for the coastal division, we wanted Miami to beat GT, giving us a leg up on both in the standings. However, GT is really the only team of note that we've beaten so far, so we need them to be as strong as possible if we want any kind of credibility in the rankings. FSU-Clemson is a toss up, as we play both of them. Now that Miami and FSU have won, we need them to win out (except for us obviously) if we want a "statement" victory this season. Every time Miami loses a conference game, though, it helps our cause for the coastal crown.

They looked awful against Auburn, their offense is capped at 3 yards per play. Not only is UGA better, SoCar is better and UF is probably better. LSU is the fifth best team in their conference....
1. Bama
2. FSU
3. UGA
4. Oregon
Honestly, I know there is a joke about ND right below this....but they are good. (Although Michigan is awful. I bet Brady Hoke is secretly celebrating the day Shoelace is gone.)
