The parking situation at Fed EX is atrocious as well. I have horrible memories of waiting 3 hours to exit the parking lot after painful losses to USC and BSU. After the USC game, we even decided to wait it out and tailgate, but noooo.... Management there told us to pack it up and get in line with everyone else. What a cluster... you know.

yeah i agree ... they looked great on BOTH sides of the ball and i fully expect them to be in undefeated and in the national c'ship discussions come thursday night in blacksburg. we'll be a 14+ point under-dog ... which i like :)

i really feel like clemson and fsu are raising the bar (and will continue to over the next few yrs) in the acc and in the long run, will make the acc a much better conference, possibly the 3rd best conference eventually (let's face it, other than usc, oregon, and stanford, the pac sucks as bad as any conference)

he had 2 rushes for 34 yards and 2 catches for 12 yards......

....................................... the last time we played Cincinnati!

We stopped going because of kids. We did one year with season tix after our first born, but when you add in 6-7 games @ 8-10 hours each time, that's asking a lot of grandparents.

Now, with 3 kids, we maybe can get to one game a year. Frankly, we prefer to tape the games, do the Saturday stuff we need to do with the kids and house and watch the game in a 2 hour block later. Cheaper, no weather, no traffic.

Attending games, to me, is a young mans game and an old mans game. I did games from 18 until 31 and I hope to do them again from 45 until I die. That period in between.....not much.

Well 40,000 isn't great.

I wish mamaschaef and I could go, but with the little uns in tow (3yo and 3mo) it just isn't possible. I'll be watching from the Noke and you may hear me up in FedEx!

Go Hokie!

Dozer's Play of the Game - Week 4

tonkaberlin:

It's been a long career for Dyrell Roberts and he's had some amazing plays over his five years. We all remember Danny Coale's amazing catch-and-run against Nebraska in 2009, but it was Dyrell who came up huge on third down to get the touchdown. After a long and intense scramble by Tyrod Taylor, Dyrell made a diving catch in the end zone to actually seal the deal. Earlier that year, too, he had blasted down the sideline against eventual national champion Alabama to score on a kick return to get us back into the game. Again last year, after being out for the end of the season in 2010 after an injury, Dyrell made an ESPN Top-10 catch, securing the ball between his own hand and an App State corner's helmet. But there has been mostly disappointment lately. After missing half of a season in both 2010 and 2011 due to compartment syndrome and a broken arm, respectively, and many dropped passes this year, Dyrell had yet to make a big play for the team. In fact, he hadn't scored a touchdown since October 23, 2010(!) against Duke. But it seems like this year things are finally looking up for him. Last week against Bowling Green, late in the second quarter, VT was only up 7 over Bowling Green. On first down, Logan Thomas dropped back past midfield and threw a bomb intended for #11 Dyrell Roberts. Logan has struggled with accuracy lately and Dyrell has struggled with holding onto the football. This time, however, the #STRAIGHTBURNER blew past the corner, and simultaneously jumped into the end zone and secured the football before hitting the ground. In the replay, you can see the relief under the helmet as he gets up. After so much frustration these past few seasons, it looks like the Dyrell Roberts we know is coming back. Welcome back, #STRAIGHTBURNER!

I felt this was necessary here:

He does a weekly report here in Richmond with Yahoo! Sports Radio 910's Wes McElroy and was asked this same question. The always optomistic Roth thinks that number should shoot up but also attributed lagging sales to four things: Pitt loss, Big East team, both unranked, AND tickets were initially WAY overpriced. Bill said the tickets for the game Saturday were more than when we played them in the Orange Bowl initially ranging from 52.99 to 175.00. You can get them for as low as $30 now so I think there may be a lot of last minute attendees.

"The Hokies run the veer read option with Coleman as the dive man. The offensive line gets movement. Logan's fake freezes the pursuit, and Coleman attacks the line aggressively and explodes into the second level."

I think you meant Holmes, you have to give him credit on this run hit the hole fast and broke it for a big gain.

Any concern about the uncharacteristic lack of discipline with five false start penalties? Or do you think that was just having Arkema and Benedict with their first start jitters?

And it looks like you're going to get your wish, French. The Collegiate Times is saying RVD will start at whip against Cincy.

Hmm, the maroon numbers for new comments are taking me to the comments section, but not directly to the new comments like it used to.

After watching the Clemson FSU game last Saturday I had the feeling this isnt like the last couple of years. FSU looked like an SEC school with big fast guys and Clemson looked like a High School football team. I really think FSU has a shot at the National Championship game (of course after I write this they will choke on the South Florida game) but they look like a team with all of the pieces to make a run.
