How do you feel about the SEC?

(Also, if you're going to cuss, at least make it funny.)

If people try to squeeze into my section it is usually because they want to be with their friends and make their game experience more enjoyable. If they are having fun, then I am probably having fun too. If one person tries to squeeze three people in then that is a little excessive.

I have learned my lesson this year with the re-seating. I sacrificed my view to be higher up in the East with an aisle seat. I have the seat directly on the aisle and the seat next to it so I could squeeze in a person or two in the event that an old buddy wants to meet in Blacksburg for a game that doesn't have season tix without causing too much trouble. But, I also made sure I was right next to the student section.

Our CBs have pitch responsibility and should therefore not be inching toward the dive in the middle of the field. They should be maintaining the edge of the field and I would expect them to demolish a screen.

Do you think having a 220 lb CB adds value to our option defense? I am curious to see if either of GT's green receivers can block him. I can see him significantly disupting the pitch on his side of the field. I wish Bonner and Jarrett had heavier shoulders as they will be doing most of the tackling on Tevin and I hope they would make it hurt.

I also truly hope JGW is more of a playmaker. I'll be keeping an eye on him to see if he's productive.

Just don't know if I have time to make the drive up there and back this weekend I live in Floyd, right down the road from B'Burg. If have anymore this season and won't be coming let me know. I am trying to find tickets right now.

open up wide receiver screens off of play action? If Paul Johnson were to add any passing based wrinkles, I feel like that is exactly what he should do. 3-4 times per game, fake the dive and quickly get the ball to a receiver on the perimeter. Am I missing something or could that be a huge yardage gainer for them?

that even the "bad" seats aren't all that bad from a view perspective. I sat on the very edge of Section 2 last year and had a blast. This year its Section 29/31 right on the 50 thanks to re-seating. I think they were student section seats last year and I'll do my best to uphold the enthusiasm.

Vandy- pulls off the upset, makes the better teams in the SEC once again look like shit
NC State - Just because I really hope they win, SEC can suck a dick
MSU - Boise State can suck a dick
Auburn - I want Clemson to win, but can never in my right mind rout for them.
Michigan - I know Bama will win this one, but once again I hate the SEC, plus I still count last years Sugar bowl as a win for us, so it will make me feel even better.

Virginia Tech wins this one by at least 17 points, we should have the Defense to shove their run game right back up their asses, and I think we score at least 17 points in this game.

Sakerlina - although "James Franklin ain't afraid to punch a cock!!" - Spencer Hall. Also I will be wearing my "COCKS" shirt that BroESQ got me when he briefly attended that fine institution of learning.

NC State - please, never underestimate how much Tennessee sucks. VAWLS.

Boise State - why the fuck not

Auburn - Sammy Watkins single-handedly CLEMSON'd Clemson

Bama bangs and Baby Gap shorts

Virginia Tech because I REFUSE to pick against us but I've been breathing into a paper bag every now and then because this game is starting to give me the vapors DEEP BREATHS

Also...

Your not supposed to sit down in Lane. I was fortunate during the last four years to experience the game from various places. I had season tickets in the low half of East for a year, and near the front in NEZ for 2 other years, and was also friends with many of the football players and often was able to get some of their family tickets for friends and family of mine, so I spent a fair amount of games in the front row of West with players family. As far as atmosphere goes there is absolutely no where that compares to North, and as far as being a drunk asshole cheering the team on without really being coherent enough to analyze all the finer thing of watching football it is defiantly the places to be. As far as view of the game and feeling like your on the field nothing beats being on the first row of the West Stands. It allows you to fully appreciate the amazing size of all the players and allows you to feel the emotion of the Tech sideline as the game progresses. Given the only full game I watched from these seats was last years Clemson game it can also be a little demoralizing. As far as South goes I pretend it doesn't exist, the only game I had the unfortunant experience to watch from there was the 2008 17 degree Duke game where my sisters and I almost froze to death. East has its perks too, but is also tends to be infiltrated more often by away fans which when you come back to shock Nebraska at the last second can have negative residual effects, but extremely gratifying when the fan has been talking shit the whole game.

But in conclusion I am going to have to agree that no matter where your designated standing area is, it is 1000% better to be at the game watching than at home. I am going to miss is immensely not being there for every game for the first time in 4 years; probably the worst thing about graduating. But I can tell you this: Nothing can keep me away from the Thursday night FSU game this year. Already requested my leave from work on Thursday and Friday, all I know is that game is going to be something special this year. #startjumping

Thanks! I now understand (and respect) their offense much more.

Still very nervous about the game but more comfortable knowing of the talent and depth on our d-line and (most importantly) the experience that Tyler, Taylor, Fuller, and company will bring in having seen GT now for the 3rd or 4th time.

Last year, the safeties stayed back in coverage until the QB is across the line. With their corner background, I expect more of that from Bonner and Jarrett this year. You will see Exum and Fuller playing 7 yards off the line of scrimmage, which allows them space to read the play and elude option stalk blocks. I expect both to be heavily involved in stopping the outside running game.

What about getting the safeties involved in coverage rather than run support? It seems a waste to have both Fuller and Exum, physical guys and excellent open-field tacklers, getting locked up with the receivers on each play. Since Bonner and Jarrett have solid coverage skills as previous CBs, couldn't Exum and Fuller take the pitch man and play close to the line of scrimmage?

I get both sides of the argument. You paid for the ticket, so you shouldn't have to move if you don't want to. However, when people come into my section, I'll gladly make room as long as it's not inconveniencing those already there, and I wouldn't try to make it uncomfortable for anyone else.

Also, they shouldn't sell seats as much as two footprints to stand in.

I would expect the gameplan to be the same this year. This team is better designed to stop the interior running game with the front 4 this year. I think it will be interesting to see if Foster thinks that he can stop the dive just with the tackles or if he sells out on the dive like they did the last two seasons. I think if this defense has a weakness, it is team speed. Can they keep GT from having success beyond the QB keeper?

I keep reading that Paul Johnson is adding "wrinkles." First, I don't buy that at all. They might run quick pitch (which the Hokies struggled against up until last year) more often, but if I was Paul Johnson, I would find a QB that looks more like a bruising tailback and he'd get 30 carries.
