I'll be in town the 31st-the 4th. I'm staying uptown at a friends house while she's out of the country, but getting to Bourbon isn't a problem at all. I've never been so I don't have any suggestions, but where it is I'll be there.

So I said Molk was an outstanding center. I guess I understated it. He is now our 78th All American and this year's Rimington award winner. He was named second team all B1G by the media . . . shows you how much they know.

I've never been to Nola before (I was in India in 2005). I will be in town from 12/31 - 12/4 so looking forward to meeting everyone I haven't met! Staying in the CBD on the river.
But I have been to the Shoe for the Game and have had too many fight of flight instances for it to be coincidence. I know its nowhere near that in Ann Arbor . . .

As far as hatred for Ohio goes, my little brother is an Ohio alumnus, so I have to be respectful. Most Ohio alumni are fine, its the sidewalk fans who enjoy pooping in coolers. Its nice to have a game where you respect the rival and I think we have that here. Of course there will be idiots on both sides, but its nice to have the general attitude be one of respect. We deal with the couch-burning Spartans and the urine-filled-baggie-throwing cooler-pooping Ohio fans and its so refreshing to talk about the actual game and traditions instead of the heinousness of the opposing fans.

Damn I was really hoping Herby and Musb. were going for it as well. Would've great to hear them blabber on and have EITHER team shut them up. Obviously I hope the Hokies win but I would seen a silver lining either way in regards to those two having that assignment.

Michigan State is very disciplined and since the whole Mike Hart "Little Brother" comment, they have made it their one mission to beat Michigan. They have been successful for the last four years for a number of reasons. Coaching is the largest. These guys are always ready to play us. They smacked us again this year and we coiled up and let them. If there was a book to be written on beating the Wolverines the last four years, Mark Dantonio would be the guy to do it. I wouldn't doubt it if he is emailing Frank Beamer with tidbits of info. He hates Michigan more than anything in the world.
If Dantonio could go the B1G Championship by us winning a game, but lose out on going by us losing, he would still wish us to lose. Yeah, he hates Michigan that much. His "Pride Comes Before the Fall" speech is pretty intense. Did we provoke him? Yeah. We did. The guy will probably always have a special Michigan voodoo doll in his possession. @Joe, is this our second bowl season on TKP? I only ask because I don't recall seeing anywhere near the amount of sincere interest in getting to know Hokie Nation as we are seeing now. I guess week to week there isn't much time during the season, and also The Cardinal fanbase passion was surely lacking last year prior to the Orange Bowl, they barely had their own blogs active.

The thing about DC sports talk radio is that on 94.3 they are all Maryland hacks and on 106.7 they simply don't talk about college football. You would think that both stations would devote just a few minutes to the Hokies considering the large alumni base in the area, but both stations would rather just bitch about the Redskins 24/7

Holy moly what a nice list- gimme that TV! ScottbeardVT- I can relate: when I played ice hockey and my club team qualified for Southeastern District (Regionals) II Championships all we got was a crappy t-shirt that just had the USA Hockey logo on it and the Championship name under it. If you scored a goal you got to keep the puck at least.
