Since its not VMI, id go with someone like Roanoke College?

As far as your BCS selections go, there is a 0 (possibly negative) % chance that Fiesta takes the Big East champion with the first pick.

In your scenario, I see it going something like...

NCG: Okie State vs Bama/LSU

Sugar gets first pick to replace SEC and takes Bama/LSU loser
Fiesta gets second pick to replace BigXII and takes Oklahoma

Orange automatically gets ACC (Clemson)
Rose automatically gets Pac12 vs B1G (Michigan St/Wisc winner vs Oregon/Stanford winner)

Fiesta gets first at large pick and takes Oregon/Stanford loser
Sugar gets second pick and takes Boise State
Orange gets last pick and takes Big East champion (lets say Cincy yawn)

06 Hokie and french60wasp should do an analysis blog together.....I enjoy the analysis from both....great job guys!

Did you just say use a fattier ground beef for LESS shrinking on the grill? This goes against everything I've ever heard about grilling burgers.

Wakemeup707- I respectfully agree and disagree with you for one reason. Though I don't believe ESPN has any interest in individual institutions (minus SEC or ND- NBC deal>probably don't like them minus Alumni) I do think that Dinich on the ESPN ACC Blog does not "like" Virginia Tech. To her, if we lose its expected and if we win, we either got lucky, had the refs calling everything our way, other team under-prepared or we merely capitalized on a big play/turnover by the opponent. Example A: Miami in '09/'11- both times she claimed thug U absolutely dominated us but we benefited from mother nature and/or Miami miscues. According to her we've only 'won' ten to twelve ACC games since 2004 and we're in the third tier in the Conference. Example B: Forget the four (and possibly five) ACC titles in eight years (HD's reasoning)- Berlin gave the game away ('04), Ryan choked in the 4th Quarter ('07 ACCCG), BC's defense didn't show up in the second half ('08 ACCCG), and Tyrod took the game over ('10 ACCCG). The only 'real' ACC Championship Game was in 2005 when the lowly #4 Hokies were "thrashed" by the greatness of the #25 Seminoles...though even that title is being investigated (as of last year). Nowhere does she mention VT's D forced Brock and Matty Ice into terrible decisions by bringing heat (and opportunistic offense) and in 2008 Tyrod making BC's linebackers and safeties look silly along with Evans gashing them repeatedly in the second half. That being said other programs like Free Shoes U and Thug U have made bigger splashes in recruiting, off-field issues and have won natty's- at times they deserve more attention (not necessairly in a good way).

Sorry about lengthy post: I don't like ranting but, as many non U, FSU, GT, or UNC fans will tell you she is the epitome of biased journalism at times though she went to Indiana and, on the surface, doesn't have a horse in these races. Will give her this though- minus VT and her teams she does usually give accurate predictions and is a gifted/talented writer, though seemingly biased.

I was actually there for that game, surprisingly. My folks had extra tickets so i thought i'd be a good son, so my wife and I tagged along. UFL is pretty much like minor league baseball, you don't really get into the game much but just hang out while somewhat paying attention to the field. It was awesome to recognize Rouse though. Interesting to note that Marty Schottenheimer is the head coach and this is his first ever championship.

He has an extra game on several that are close behind. But Duke, Va, and especially GT are not great at stopping the run. Ranked 48, 49, and 77 nationally. UNC is better at 23. Interestingly, for an 8-0 team Clemson is 76 against the run and 60 in total defense nationally. But they are 15 in total offense. They are vulnerable if a team can find a way to stop them or get turnovers. I like our chances if we make the ACCCG.

I see him driving towards campus from Foxridge all the time. But if you ever want to get a close-up of his whip (and maybe even himself), he parks his car on the Northeast side of the stadium during the games, back behind the trees near the apartments over there... My fridn and I flipped when we saw his car...

I was hoping Rouse would be a longterm player for the (my) Giants when they signed him in '09, but he only lasted the one season and played sparingly. He had a lot of potential too, surprised he didn't have a more successful NFL career.

Thanks for posting this, it's always good to keep up with the former players.

This is the comment from DMFW after the game (from http://vteffect.tumblr.com/post/11801315355/postgame-notes-and-quotes-fr...):

Wilson carried just six times for 21 yards in the first half. He had 11 for 113 in the second, including six times for 72 yards on the first two drives of the second half, both of which resulted in touchdowns (one being Wilson’s 42-yard run).

Before halftime, Wilson told running backs coach Shane Beamer, “Let’s run the ball more.”

Why did Wilson say that?

“I felt like we were getting away from what we do,” he said. “We came out the second half running the ball more and you could see the passes open up more, and the runs opened up more, and now we’ve got the defense off balance.”

Look how FSU did against OU. I think people are giving OU wayyy too much credit.

I'm basing my statement off results this season thus far. Wisconsin, same thing. Our Run D has been pretty solid other than against Miami, and we dominated Russel Wilson last year as well..

David Wilson just slapped that defender into Sunday, then taunted him by eating Chick-fil-A.
