I did say it would be an outside shot. I get your point, though.

My thinking is that in order for us to have a shot at an at-large bid as a 2-loss team is that our 2nd loss needs to come earlier, and I think we might be able to overcome a close loss on the road in Atlanta to make it back into the top-14.

Regardless of to whom & when we lose, even if we are in the top-14 as a 2-loss team, we're going to be hard pressed to get an at-large bid. There will likely be bigger named teams in the at-large pool that will draw better TV ratings, so I think this point it moot.

Even a close loss to GT puts us out of the top 14 and we won't meet the requirements. The only loss we can take and even still be considered eligible is a loss in the ACCCG.

Yeah, I think the only way we're going to a BCS bowl is to win the ACC. I think there's an outside shot we can lose a close one at Georgia Tech and be eligible as an at-large 10-win team, but that doesn't mean we'd get selected.

A lot can and still will happen to mix this all up.

Abso-friggin-lutely. Don't take these "projections" as a prediction of what will happen. I did this only an exercise as if the season ended today.

EDIT: Meant to be in reply to jmichons.

VT has to win the ACC to get in the BCS. A match-up with WVU or a rematch with Boise? A lot can and still will happen to mix this all up.

Drager was taking it to the house. I'm sure he saw the goal line with eyes wide open. Just one missed tackle away.

Do you know has been most impressive to me about the last few weekends?

How mature the Hokies have looked in their composure.

We have a lot of youth on the field (especially on D), and the way they have kept their composure the last few games has been uber-impressive is comparable to much more mature teams. I dearly hope they keep this up through GT & UNC.

I've made my mock but imgur is down! Here's hoping no one steals my idea in the meantime...

You've got it all wrong: Chick-fil-A is what gives his abs abs.

Logan struggled early with short timing throws. Against a better corner the inaccurate out and curl he threw to MD7 both would have been taken back to the house. From the second quarter on he turned it up. He really, really impressed me the location of his deep balls late in the game. They were perfected placed over the defender to the receiver's shoulder.

Eliminate 90% of the plays from under center. We thrive in space.

The young defensive linemen: Wilson, Maddy and Marshall played very well for the most part. Considering their experience and size I can't ask for much more. The big runs happened when the guys inside, Hamlette included, over-pursued, didn't maintain gap control and got washed down the line.

The offensive line is really stepping it up. On the one sack they gave up LT3 held the ball for 5 seconds instead of throwing the ball away. They missed picking up a couple of run blitzes, but they're a huge improvement over last season.

Branthover. Yes.

And this... just, wow:

While He has been backing up Fuller and Hosley, it seems as if Detrick Bonner has been partaking in the "Kyle Fuller Open Field Tackling Clinic." He was just making some tremendous plays out in the open field, but unfortunately really his only two letdowns of the games set up a touchdown, then allowed the score on the ensuing 4th down.

I heard the reason he doesn't go to the huddle is that he played some QB in high school and gets the plays from the sidelines. Not sure if that's true, but that's what I've heard.

Dude, I sweat a turkey leg off just thinking about "Hot" yoga, if you know what I mean. Also, why do you say the DMFW post is for the ladies, do you not allow guys that like guys on this site?

the difference between you shirtless and David Wilson shirtless.

It's Monday, October 17th, 4:40pm, and Jarrett Boykin still doesn't know what he's doing.

You should be able to sweat out the extra calories at hot yoga.

Somehow I posted this twice so I need a turkey leg redacted since I don't know how to delete a comment in whole

This is where the inspiration of the No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem came from. Of course Brad Hamilton would never dare get into DMFW's face. VT opponents need to learn it, know it and live it.

I think our second teamers deserve a lot of credit. They're being thrown into the fire and are answering the bell.

As for our young guys on the d-line, I don't mind ZM in the game - he needs the reps to improve, as you mentioned. But if we have better options, we need to go with those options. That being said, it's worth throwing DPM in there and seeing what happens. If he and ZM contribute on the same level, give them the same reps. If one starts to separate himself, then the choice is there.

I wouldn't go as far as comparing this to the punting situation, only because I think both DPM and ZM need reps. But I do understand what you mean. If someone is consistently showing they can't handle the heat, get them out of the kitchen.
