What is stopping you nowadays?
Due to an amazing amount of work, I will only be picking the Friday night game and after drinks on Friday making the rest of the picks. Good to see all the new posters and pickers and of course the BCO chosen cheerleader picture.
TCU - This is the Disciples of Christ v/s the Baptists. Not nearly exciting as Catholics v/s Convicts but the best pre-Saturday matchup the 4 letter network is allowing us to see. Baylor is Robert Griffin III and that is it. Also he is good but hasn't quite lived up to the hype and the JV team at my high school has more talent around it. Gary Patterson is truly one of the top coaches in Forth Worth, TX. Maybe even top 5 of all current college coaches in Texas. His defense will stifle the Bears and the Frogs and their fans little cute horned frog hand gesture will rule the hot night in Texas.

Well I had to pick the wife up from the airport this evening so I am just now watching my tifauxed Baylor/TCU matchup. I have to say that Baylor looks pretty good so far and my habit of making crappy picks doesn't seem in jeopardy.
USF - Even if Lou Holtz was talking about how he used to get hookers for all his players and himself, I wouldn't listen and/or DVR it. He is the closest thing to unwatchable as there is. Mark May makes about .0001% more sense then Dr. Lou. I wish Reese Davis did the show by himself, or with a bunch of hookers. Anyway I think USF covers as teams are still finding their legs in these early games, not that VT would know anything about that.
UGA - One simple reason. Boise St won their opening game last year. I know, I was there. It is too good to be true for them to come to UGA's summer home and win or cover.
Oregon - Matt Flynn, I mean Jarrett Lee is the QB. I should stop there but the Willie/William Lyles Bowl is going to be decided by ESSSS EEEEE CEEEEE speed, problem is that Oregon has it all. They will miss (insert some nascar drivers name here) Cliff Harris but LSU will be missing more in Jordan Jefferson. Jefferson is set to have a breakout season, blah, blah, blah. Now he might be trying to break out of prison.
SMU - Is this a future Big 8/12 team vs a former Big 8/12 team? The Pony Excess, sans St Craig James is making a comeback. I don't think they will win and the coach of aTm is Mike Sherman. Did I mention the coach of aTm?
Miami - I have said this before, in Turkey leg 47 or something, Maryland never comes through when you want them to. Both my parents went to Maryland and I cheer for them on most occasions. The nation will be watching and the terps and their crash test dummy unis will not come through. Also, Miami is back. In fact the whole freaking state of FLA is back and better than ever. Miami just seems back in the news courtesy of Nevin.

I will be on to something better next week. I use to think the special helmet thing was decent...you know, one special game a year. But the plethora of helmets and combos is getting out of control. Wyoming. WYOMING has 3 different helmets this year. Seriously?!

Just found out/realized his dad went to high school at the same time that I did and played in our conference, less than an hour from me. He was a beast in high school basketball and in the conference all-star game had a dunk, 3 pointer, shot block, steal and an assist all within 25 seconds. He went to JMU and I believe led them in rebounding 3 seasons and even the conference one year. Heck of an athlete.
