* Perennial top 15-20 FOOTBALL team- sorry for any confusion.
I read a comment on an SEC board some months ago at the beginning of the last football season (forgive me for not providing a link but for the life of me I cannot remember if it was ESPN, CBS Sports, or a small fan blog) totally agreeing with the point you brought up concerning Miami and Florida State. Florida definitely would attempt to block any move to the SEC by either program- I don't recall the exact reasoning behind it (gotta be around a thousand) but Miami joining the ACC in 2004 did NOT help matters if they decided to bolt for the SEC. Also recruiting and money were huge factors. Also I think, as a whole, the SEC would love having Virginia Tech in the Conference. Perennial top 15-20 team and solid basketball program with ACC experience and rep (all joking aside, our rep in the ACC as a basketball program has grown tremendously even with the likes of Kentucky fans who many have told me respect the heck out of what Greenberg has done in Blacksburg with a program lacking NCAA Championship tradition) and on top of it all a solid academic institution.
WANT TYROD TAYLOR JERSEY
Yup yup...just like the old Revolution orange-sleeved jerseys were my favorite for one week after crushing BC at home until Miami slapped us around in 2005. I tend to agree: if VT keeps winning in them keep wearing them even if the fans and recruits don't love them.
Hahahaha...nice pic by the way. Really sums it up perfectly.
That 11 yarder will have to compete with this one..Either way I like his chances.
Oh man...not a fan of the creamsicle pants with Chicago Maroon filling. Honestly, not to sound too much like a nerd, I wore the current away jersey with the maroon pants from the 08-09 unis in NCAA 12 and it did not look terrible- kinda weird though. I tend to like the combos myself (Maroon top, white pant; White top, maroon pant, etc) much like many others. All whites are boring and the all maroons are great but only a few times. in 07 and 08 it got real old real quick for me.
I think the TD pass in the Orange Bowl with Tyrod walking the tight rope on the sideline was a thing of beauty.
not every game, but i really love how ohio state and uga have silver pants for all their uni's.
orange isn't neutral like silver/grey so not sure it can be done, but white pants are boring.
Not bad though I would prefer it with the white helmets... especially the "TECH" ones.
I just made him another player: Robert Lockhart. Also, I changed a couple other players who either werent with the team anymore yet were on the game (Odom, Lorenzo Williams and Austin Fuller) and added guys like Detrick Bonner (hint: if you can't figure out how to bypass the game's restriction on using the legitimate name of "Bonner" since they deem it inappropriate, simply disconnect from the Internet while you're doing it), Barquell Rivers and Duan Perez-Means. After all, all three of those guys are going to be in our two-deep this year presumably.

however, if they put up huge numbers on the scoreboard while shutting out whoever we're playing, this will be my favorite jersey.
if paired with maroon top, I think.
which would explain why he didn't redshirt last year... which would have made just as much if not more sense than redshirting this year.
With all the experience on the line, and the improved backup situation, I'd push them up into the Bs. Or I would if DeChristopher wasn't hurt... that throws a kink into things.
I would have to split the FS (in the B+) and corners (A). Eddie is great, but if he goes down we have NO depth behind him at one of the most critical spots for our defense. Whereas we do have decent depth at corner (Hill and Bonner both have experience and ability) and there's also also not quite as much of a learning curve there if we had to play a newbie.
Not a fan of orange pants. Just no.
For anyone wondering if they stuck the wrong pants on. I did three random color samples from the stripes on the shoulder and pant leg. It's the least scientific and most SportsByBrooks thing I've ever done...

But, it appears as if they match.
I just don't want to start looking like Tennessee with all the orange in our uniforms. Just do an Orange Helmet with the rest of the uniform all Maroon.
Oh hells no! Why do they keep trying to add orange to the uniform. Do they want us to look like the Charlottesville school for the deaf and blind?
My first thought was OH NO!
My second thought was...maybe, as long as the helmets aren't orange.
Now I am undecided...

Looks like it's a little better than sounded at first. Being near 100% by October sounds probable.
Oh Boyce. Joe I did something different on my NCAA 12 roster download. The guy who created it had Boyce in the game so I just got the bio and projections for Byrne (pretty much turned him into a 75 ovr.). Still surprised and hoping its a baseless and false charge but from what I read on ESPN a few months back when the story first broke my hopes were not looking good and the conditions seem to have remained the same.
I've suffered a few of these in my day...Not to play the sky is falling, but they really are a major pain in the @$$ for an athlete. Rest is mentally difficult and can lead to being overly aggressive in rehab, which can lead to re-injury, etc...bad cycle.
A little more information after doing some reading about these injuries last night.
A strained pectoral muscle is actually a slight tear in the chest muscles. It happens when the muscle is stretched too far and is typically experienced by people who exercise without properly warming up. You may not feel any pain when you strain your chest muscles. That comes later, once you begin to cool down and the adrenaline is no longer pumping.
Grading the Strain
There is a method for grading the severity of the muscle strain. Grade 1 causes minor discomfort but doesn't hinder your activity. Grade 2 causes more discomfort and can begin to limit your activity. You may also find some swelling and bruising. Grade 3 causes a lot of pain, swelling and bruising.Treating the Strain
To recover from a muscle strain, your body needs rest. Stop exercising and allow the body to repair itself. Make sure your diet has enough protein in it so that the building blocks are there to repair the torn muscles.

How Long Does It Take to Recover?
Strains can vary in severity. Minor strains can heal sufficiently to play in just a few days. More serious strains require surgery, which require two to three months of recovery time.

I'm not a doctor, but based on how long BDC's going to be out it sounds like a moderate strain. This is going to be a nagging injury over the course of the season.
But if memory serves, Coles has gone on record saying that he wasn't interested in a red-shirt because of his prep year

Drager Bomb at 264 has bulked up nicely for the TE position.
