App State concerns me the most. LT's first real start against a scrappy. Cliche, but very real, for what the team exhibits. They have nothing to lose against us. If we start out walking into this one it'll be ugly. Regardless of how many times DW backflips onto the field.
One is Camp Sauce (original). The other is Camp Fire Sauce.
Appalachian State is indeed a very good football team that's used to playing on the big stage. They've probably had more big game success than Tech. That's concerning. Both teams will probably use last year's VT-JMU game as motivation. I would be more worried about a potential upset if we didn't have the summer to prepare, and we had stomped JMU. The coaches are going to be in the players' ears all August about this game.

If FSU beats Oklahoma I could see them going undefeated into the ACCCG. Clemson will be coming off the Auburn game when they face FSU. Boston College will be coming off 2 tough road games (VT and uMD) before playing FSU.
I think UNC well be really good this year. Also on offense remember they have Ryan Houston coming back. Also hoping they are in the national spotlight because of NCAA trouble as well.
ECU always represents a great challenge and every year since '07, it has been a great game minus the 2009 snoozer (on both sides). To be honest we gotta step up in week one. Though it was five years ago, App State proved they could go anywhere and beat anybody (though Michigan wasn't the greatest team ever that year, it was still a win at the Big House against a Top 5 UM team). I don't think we should 'fear' anyone (because we have the talent and coaching to be in every game) but we can't start slow, even against ASU, especially after the JMU debacle last fall.
weaver22: hahahaha nice. Last time I was down that way I remember having to change the stations more than a few times just to not hear someone saying that over and over again.
Even though we don't play them this year, anybody in Northern Virginia that has a radio knows that we are supposed to Fear the Turtle!
whats the difference between the red top and the black top?
wahee is his best friend.
wynne and especially nixon are still thought to be vt leans ... we'll see.
It looks like he's going to follow Wahee to UVa.
Barbeque up some ribs, chicken or even a steak and the recruits will commit on the spot.
It actually says this! "My mom started Camp Sauce as a dressing and dip and now my family puts Camp Sauce on EVERYTHING".
Trouble with weeds in your lawn? No problem. Just spray some on and they're good as gone.
Want those roses to smell extra nice? Camp Sauce adds that special spice.
Keeps the deer away from your favorite plants.
Puts a shine on your football helmet and helps you get a grip on the ole pigskin too!
Don't use those chemical flea dips when CFS does the job.
Due to their wimpy genetics some men tend start thinning out. Instead of a faulty comb-over just rub a little BEAMER'S FAVORITE SAUCE on that sunspot and within days you will have the hair you did 10 years before! I started using BEAMER's FAVORITE SAUCE when I was challenge to a beard-off and much to my opponents dismay I am now sporting a ZZ-Top look.
...for reducing concussion risk
http://www.vtnews.vt.edu/articles/2011/05/051011-engineering-helmetratin...
The information is based on a new evaluation methodology that incorporated eight years of data and analysis, quantifying head impact exposure and risk of concussion. The testing data showed that the overall best helmet currently available to the public is the Riddell Revolution Speed, which earned the only "5-star" rating. The next category includes five very good performing helmets that were all given a "4-star" rating: Schutt ION 4D, Schutt DNA Pro+, Xenith X1, Riddell Revolution, and Riddell Revolution IQ, according to Stefan Duma who directed the project.

Many of the 2010 Virginia Tech football team players used VSR4 helmets and had them through spring ball in April 2011. "Once we finalized the numbers, my first call was to our head team physician Gunnar Brolinson and our head team trainer Mike Goforth. We all agreed that we had to change out the helmets immediately," Duma said. "For the fall 2011 season, our players that had VSR4s will be in the Revolution Speed helmets."
To cover the cost of the new helmets, the School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences agreed to pay for the newer and better performing helmets. "There is an appreciable cost associated with changing out approximately 40 helmets, but there is no question that we are going to do it," Duma said.
Thanks for the great insight. Nice to see that the program is taking advantage of opportunities like the Spring Game to show off what they've got for recruits (especially that locker room...woah!). The changes on the staff are already being felt and although its still early I am a huge fan thus far.
Every Sunday David Wilson can be seen at Chick-Fil-A dipping his nuggets in Coach Beamer's favorite sauce... It's also what give's Bud Foster's Go-T that "don't fuck with me" shine.
the norfolk christian kids said that all would commit to vt if they offered wahee. they thought about it and said no, not even greyshirt.
d1aa at best.
this can't hurt uva for the other 3, but not sure it really hurts vt much either. we'll see.
Did we even offer him?
committed to uva.
1 of 2 things, smart for him to do so now before his teammates commit elsewhere or he talks some of those guys to go with him.
Tough clogs? Run a little BFS through them pipes and once again flush with authority!
BFS, yes im abbreviating, Cures Athlete's Foot.
summers in charleston can be rough on your hair, but thanks to BEAMER'S FAVORITE SAUCE, a quick wash leaves my hair sleek and silky smooth in the heat - plus the boys love the scent. thanks coach!
It also wards off Rebecca Black.
uva is the fave for williams. homer could go to uva or bc, great shape might be a stretch.
uva also offered the 4th kids from norfolk christian, wahee. db/wr in hopes of securing moore and wynn. nixon is unlikely to go to uva. they needed that to make up with moore.

"Why is Virginia Tech number nineteen on this list?" "I don't know but after hearing all of that they should be like...sixth!"
Though I am a huge fan of such love from the College Gameday/Roundtable crew sometimes stuff like this gets me a little nervous. Much like many others I see us losing a game or two but I can't seem to really get a feel for which ones. Sure the GT trip during the beef of the schedule will be tough but more than winnable. Miami is always a challenge but as I read and hear more Canes fans rave about Al Golden the more I see Randy Shannon part deuce (unmet expectations- remember how they were when good ole' Randy was hired?). ECU will be a great game as well....AGH! I don't want to say IT because I said it last year so I will predict 10-2 or 11-1 with a Coastal Division Title. Flip a coin as to the one or two games but I am already a huge fan of the approach being taken by this team and the potential that is there.
