I remember saying how I wished he would have just gone pro instead of transferring, but now it appears that he made the right choice. He was probably a 2nd rounder if he left last year, and now he projects closer to a surefire 1st rounder.

Good for him, and I wish him all the best. I hope on Sunday Night Football he mentions VT at least once.

Has had two 1000 yard rushers as running backs coach since 2020. That was Re'Mahn Davis at Vanderbilt with 1042 in 2022 and then Jamal Haynes at GT in 2023. Both of those backs regressed every season after their 1000+ yard season. Both 1000 yard seasons were the first year McKenzie was at the school. 2019 was same story, first season as Louisville RB coach, Javian Hawkins went over 1000 yards and then regressed every year after. Hopefully that wont be the case here. Hopefully backs are consistent or more quality backs splitting the load.

What happened to having big dawg money to bring in an amazing staff and lots of them?

We had 'big dawg money' by 2024 standards (at the start of 2024). Price of the brick is always increasing, and quickly. I hopeful that it is top 25 money by the time we kickoff in 2026.

That said, I don't think money is the issue here. Seems like Franklin wants Franklin guys, and after a few failures, doesn't trust outsiders:

Or he's prioritizing recruiting:

I get the apprehension that VT fans have. But we gotta wait and see.

I had to read the sign a couple of times before I got it. That was good.

Meh

Just another person to throw on the pile of delusion at Penn St

At a certain point that whole school and everyone around it is so fucking toxic that it's not worth paying attention to any of their individual or collective claims anymore. They are desperate to make themselves look good and pile dirt on anyone who they perceive as having wronged them.

But they'll also defend rape enabler JoePa to the grave.

"Here's what I think about Coach Franklin's dismissal: The health and safety of the athletes is better because of his removal and the selection of Terry Smith to succeed him," Lynch added. "Never once did Terry Smith attempt to influence our medical decisions. I wish him success."

This is one hell of a loaded quote...

"It has been well over a year since my jury verdict. Neither Penn State, The Big Ten, or the NCAA have done anything to protect the student-athletes."

Lynch advocates medical autonomy for the doctors and trainers who treat college athletes. He has been named vice president of health and safety for the College Football Players Association, a non-profit fraternal group actively seeking to establish chapters at various universities and claim collective bargaining rights for college football players.

This, on the other hand, I think every individual can agree with. But this is an NCAA issue, not a James Franklin issue.
