There was a clip the other day of Atlanta Falcons players cooking hibachi for a PR event and it is easy to forget that these guys are not normal-sized human beings until you see them in context with regular people. One of the guys looked like a dad playing in a kid's playhouse. He had to stoop to avoid the exhaust hood.

For context, the average American man is 5'9". Tyler Bowen is 6'7" (based on what I could find via google).

Sorry not sold that this team can even be a .500 squad, especially with Lawal out and now having to watch to see what happened with Dorn as he didnt return after that physical exchange in the paint and had a back brace around his waist on the bench. We have struggled finding offense in the paint outside of Hansberry and the ACC is loaded with power forwards this year. If they are going to be successful, they need to go 7-3 from UVA through January. Means they lose to UVA, Louisville and Duke but beat everyone else. Thats still a pretty tall task but I dont like our February schedule even though record wise we look like the better team right now than several of those teams.

We are going to start ACC play against UVA at home on New Years Eve in a mainly dead Cassell. The ACC schedulers should be fired for putting that rivalry game over Winter Break. It could be a bloodbath if UVA plays like they did against Texas. Ryan Odom quietly built a contender after coming over from VCU. They are only 24th in the polls but that's more because of where they started the year.

Family fam!

Whats the feeling (almost) going into conference play? Lawal's status is difficult to say the least.
CMY seems complimentary of this team and their unselfish play, but im not quite confident.

We wholesale fire the Defensive Staff (and absolutely deservedly) but we re-hire the guy who hired all of them and put him in charge of the Defense??

True, but I think it's noteworthy that he didn't keep ANY of the defensive staff that he hired. You can read that one of a couple ways. One is that they weren't necessarily HIS choices, maybe they were Marve's? Another take is that he realized defense was underperforming and knew he needed better people. And maybe some of his previous choices were based on having less money at his disposal.

All I know is that he had good defenses when he was DC. Tech did not, and he didn't retain any of the staff responsible for that. Seems like a step in the right direction to me. Granted, let's see how the rest of the defensive staff rounds out...

ahhh, this is whiskey to giftory's bourbon. Thanks Lt!

It's not just one school, as Peter has said Brooks has connections at The St. James, which seems to be trying to emulate St. Francis. That's on top of the DeMatha football factory. According to 247, he was the primary on a number of other Maryland and DC schools including St. Francis (Jaishawn Barham one of the best LBs in the country) and St. Johns. I like the idea of having someone with a different geographical reach, but not at the expense of one of the best DMV recruiters in the country.
