Franklin and Co. about to get to work on a few more flips I bet!!
You're burying the lede lol, WITH CAUSE
Please Lord let JMFF be able to bring Coach Caos and Buster Poindexter to the Good Guys.
Michigan fires Sherron Moore. Pretty late to the party. Have to suspect they have their new coach lined up to do this now.
I don't think you understand how many people on this board (and all the others as well) that have built and fielded national championship caliber teams at the P4 FBS level.
We only have a top 10 coach (over the last 15 years) who has no idea what it takes to build a staff that can win. The only thing he's proven is making underwhelming hires so that he gets shitcanned in year 3 for that huge buyout so he can just retire and not have to worry about working.
I wish only message board posters with 100k upvotes would be allowed to make the hires, at least they're proven with all those likes.

I agree with the get fucked ND stance. The issue is that the ACC TV rights value is overwhelming placed on ND being partly in conference. This has been the primary issue from back when Swofford got played like a fiddle by them.
If they do jump ship it will be very interesting to see how that value gets reassessed when our 7-5 conference champion does not make the playoffs.
Ugh. CFP BS making me be in agreement with the Giraffe ... the world is ending

As a kid who grew up near South Bend, The Bush Push will forever be a very enjoyable core memory for me!
Kolby has suggested yesterday that he's hearing Moore and Mines are likely to be retained. Also, there's some smoke around Sean Spencer coming back to join Franklin's staff (currently at TexA&M). There's smoke around Dex too. The defensive coaches could be the best of the best from Pry's DC days at PSU.
I would be so happy if we had PSU's last 10 years as our next 10 years. So let the man do what he wants.
Waaaay too measured of a take for the current climate /s. Totally agree tbh. There are 3, 3 current coaches with a .68% winning percentage. One of them is the coach of the VT Hokies. Lets just let the guy cook and sit at the table like good little boys and girls waiting to be served something besides the shit sandwiches we have been eating for a decade.
Let Franklin's Benjamins do their work.
Let the man cook.

He was the lowest paid out of schools that report. His offenses were always middle of the pack, not good but not bad. For the money we paid him he outperformed. This is why we need to have expectations and money attached to that expectation because he killed it every year but wasnt good enough. if he was making $1m then you might have to reconsider him but at 400k he was great.
Tech fans have this tendency to make every single decision/play/hire into a referendum on the entire program. It can be exhausting.
We hired James Franklin. He is, without question, one of the 5-10 best coaches in college football over the last 15 years. We have to let him build the program the way he wants. You don't hire a coach and then immediately dictate every decision to him.
Plus, if he makes us Penn State 2.0 that is a massive win. I yearn for the days when I can complain about the playcalling in a tough loss to #8 Miami that knocks us down to 10-2 instead of 11-1.
Part of the problem for Freelon is that Duffy has no one else in the paint to defend. She goes w-2-w on defense and they give up a ton of slashing actions that leave Freelon on an island. Offensively they dont run plays to get her the ball down low which is her strength instead relying on Wenzel and Baker taking jump shots.
CJMFF has options to choose from for DC, OC, and QBC but clearly going with what he knows has been successful. PSU was ultra successful for over a decade until the flop of 2025. What's unique about 2025? PSU's AD, donors, and fanbase pushing him to hire coordinators that were not Franklin guys. So, he's reverting to what made him JMFF.
The JMFF revenge tour will be driven by an army of blue chips that are led by a staff of his people, all decorated in maroon and orange, with the intent to dominate the ACC and take on the best of the SEC and B1G in the playoffs to get JMFF and VT their first National Championship.
Let the man cook.

Danny went to East Forsyth HS and Tre is from the Greensboro area.
Build a culture of discipline and attention to details with a lots of 4 star talent and we will be back on top the ACC within 3 years. Hire whoever can get the players to Blacksburg and keep them there.
I can't decide where I stand on the idea that Fuente was good enough as a coach and the VT AD held him back. I'm sure there is some truth to it. But a coach who was actually very good would not have let us get ass-blasted by ODU in 2018 or Duke in 2019, even with limited support and budget. I don't think our AD with our low-spend, do more with less, good ole days mentality dragged him down that far.
It's a shame, I feel like his character was very solid and he put some guys in the league at Duke, so was really pulling for him to work out at Tech, but just never seemed like his group excelled.
Pry was NOT our DC for a year. Are you saying that Marve's first year, because I already addressed that - he gave Marve the vision, helped him a little bit, and then by mid-year it was solely Marve.
And now you're moving the goal posts. You talked about him being a poor choice, but, what, he's good, but only if he has elite talent? So, what you're looking for is a DC that played in the SEC or Big 10, put up top 10 defenses, but was at one of the bottom tier schools with much lower-end talent? Sorry dude, doesn't exist, or that dude would have gotten pulled immediately by a top 10 program already.

I haven't seen BAG on here in a minute
