What happened to go from Ole Miss to ECU? Kiffin was there at that time correct? Did he find someone else? Or did ECU really hire him away?
I tell you what. A person i wouldn't mind at OC is John David Baker (Current OC at ECU and in 2022 and 2023 he was the Co-OC and TE coach at Ole Miss. I feel like he is going to be a really good up and coming OC. And the ECU offense in terms of YPG is very explosive. If they scored a little bit more they probably a ten win team this season.
if i was PSU, he would've been higher on my list than Sitake.
FACTS!
So, I am going to refrain from any quantitative desires, predictions, expectations, etc. Why, one may ask...? 1. My predictions have been way off. It's why I don't bet on sports. 2. I don't want to put a number in my head as it becomes engrained and will only lead to a probable let down. 3. I think it's bad mojo at this point, from my POV at least.
My prediction, desire, wants, expectations are as follows...
Not going to even think of what our record may or may not be. I'm going to remain at cloud level, pop my popcorn, watch the CFB landscape form itself, enjoy my current spirit animal, and watch JMFF do JMFF things.
IMO, this is my gift to good mojo for the greater VT Good.
I'd toast that!
I'm curious what their analysis ranking of head coaches looks like. Because if i was PSU, he would've been higher on my list than Sitake.
If I struck out on Elko and Cignetti, Cambell's probably in that next tier of calls. At this point, I definitely wouldn't have turned my nose up at Chesney either.
Yeah, there's no waffling there.
I had to look this up because I wasn't aware. RidgeYaks? LOL Did they really just combine 2 words to create a new word that doesn't even roll off the tongue well?
Too bad they didn't get picked by John Oliver for the rebrand. The Erie Moon Mammoths is hilariously awesome.
Yeah, I can't control the Samoas. They just disappear.
Agree with this take. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), a box of Samoas only has like 12 cookies in it!
Just listened to it.
The guy wreaks of desperation. He knows he screwed up. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a group of PSU existing portal to VT.
Listening to the players talk....geesh.
PSU may have set themselves back a few years. What a dumpster fire.
IMO, The best PSU can do now is hope and pray they land Matt C and then pour lots more money into their programs to get as level set to OSU and M.
Hiring Matt C will help calm things down. He's an excellent field coach. He is not a splashy or a sexy hire. Short term pain as he is not a good recruiting HC, but if they land him and give him the money, he can build up the field product better than Franklin. Thats one of Matt's strengths that Bar pointed out in his HC Candidate review.
Thin Mints with milk are my go to when the Tags go bye bye.
It was so bad that I thought it was one of those promotions where the team renames itself to something ridiculous for a weekend series.
6 wins: Not happy, but not angry. Let's win 9 or 10 in 2027.
7 wins: Very pleased and very excited for 2027.
8 wins: Ecstatic and we're going to the playoffs in 2027!
9 wins: Rename Southgate Drive to Franklin Drive.
They were something we had to design and get made as a Rat Class by Company and then had to wear them at any meal. If while eating at Schultz you committed any infraction of etiquette (eg: not requesting permission to sit from the highest ranking cadet at the table by name and receiving that permission prior to attempting to sit) you could then be sent "sailing" around the outer edge of Schultz until you were recalled and all of your buds from that class were expected to "sail" with you.
It was meant to force freshmen to learn all the upperclassmen names/ranks, build Rat Class comraderie and just to let upperclassmen have some enjoyment.
Here is a grainy picture of mine. I put it at the top of my Hokie tree each Christmas.

For a guy in Campbell who clearly isn't simply looking for a paycheck and feels very comfortable at ISU, going to PSU at this point would seem like an odd decision.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but you have to recognize that it is a different era. While NIL brings its own set of headaches. It also makes the recruiting process a lot more transparent.
Campbell has a ton of people in his network in the NFL and has had NFL interest over the years. In this new era at a place like Penn State he might be able to focus more on football and less on impressing recruits.
All that to say, I obviously don't think it is a given that Campbell goes to Penn State, but I would not find it to be an odd decision and I wouldn't be that surprised.
I think Trent is going to develop into a very good player
Samoas (Caramel deLights) are not safe around me.
Also, I got a sample of next years new cookie (rocky road flavor). It isn't bad, but it isn't "eat the box in one sitting"-good like a samoa.
Tagalongs = Herione. I can eat a sleeve in no time. My wife will put one box of Tagalong's in the pantry for me to see and hide the others so she and my kids can have some. No lie. True story.
I have listened to the the Youtube version but it is admittedly cut up and likely edited very creatively.
But if nothing else, he clearly criticizes and blames his Outgoing Coach (Franklin) in front of his former players.
If if were a potential Head Coach candidate, that would be a giant Red Flag to me.
There is a more in depth transcript of that meeting on r/CFB and boy is it a doozy.
I cannot imagine anyone walking in there with any kind of long term expectations right now.
Also, I have been in meetings with Australians in the mining industry who swore less. Super professional environment.
I wouldn't lose sleep over it yet.
Campbell has been a candidate for jobs pretty much every Offseason for at least 5 years....He has consistently turned them down to stay at ISU.
While PSU is a "name" job ---its also objectively a Shitshow right now. Literally almost no 2026 class, likely to lose quite a few more to the Transfer Portal, and an AD who is increasingly a complete, unlikeable Asshole who is gonna be fired in very short order.
In fact, if the leaked audio of him in a "Players meeting" is real---there is a 36 minute YouTube video but this is a summary of the proceeedings:

He might not make it to next season at all.
For a guy in Campbell who clearly isn't simply looking for a paycheck and feels very comfortable at ISU, going to PSU at this point would seem like an odd decision.
PSU is a "top job" when things are going well---but by any measure they aren't at this point. You're talking a complete Roster rebuild, AD who is on the ropes, and insane expectations (PSU:OSU seems like it is becoming the Auburn:Alabama of the B1G at least in fans eyes). Maybe Campbell sees all that as an intriguing challenge, but I am understanding more completely why PSU struggling to find someone.
It is all about the Benjamins baby
Nobody else can stop her either, but we beat her regardless. Works for me.

Mike Houston offered him a chance to become a Sole Offensive coordinator and play caller at ECU. He also took a 80'000 dollar pay cut to do so. I think he really wanted the opportunity to run a offense on his own
