This happens to me. What I do is open the image/gif in a new tab and copy and paste the link from that one (which has the right extension at the end of the link) and that link works.
It would be nice to have a pocket again.
The past couple times I've tried posting pics using Imgur links I've gotten the little box with the question mark... wondering if anybody else has had the same issue?
