Well, it's a good thing we weren't playing for an appearance in the ACCCG. And I hate losing to NCSU. There is so much to say about this game now that we have an entire season to begin. to evaluate.
First of all, looking at this game in a vacuum...
1. If we start slow we are going to lose. Period.
2. I'm OK if we go in a different direction with the defensive staff. Marve needs some dudes, but the guys he has still have no idea what do do.
3. I will never understand the lack of urgency in the 4th quarter when you are down multiple scores. It's mind boggling. We don't get in a hurry until the last few minutes of the game.
Now, looking at this game in the context of the season...
I do think we are an improved team. This staff is most certainly learning on the job as evidenced by clock management, player preparation, etc. I like the trend, but this is going to be a slow build unfortunately. And I don't happen to think Marve will be part of that long term.
