Bo Pelini: Slow recruiting process
Article here.
Pelini thinks high school players should be able to sign with teams as soon as they receive scholarship offers.
I happen to agree with him. Thoughts?

Eleven Warriors (tOSU blog) interview with Coach Beamer
Pretty interesting and impressive interview with CFB from the Ohio State football blog Eleven Warriors. Definitely worth the read. Found this on r/CFB so if you've seen this before I apologize. The comments section from OSU fans is pretty great too, it seems most fans respect CFB and are excited for our matchup.
GO HOKIES!
Kyshoen Jarrett named one of the toughest players in college football.
According to this article Kyshoen Jarrett is one of the 14 toughest players in college football, checking in at 13. Good to see someone other than VT fans recognize his toughness.
Phil Steele's 2014 Preseason All-ACC Team
College football prognosticator extraordinaire Phil Steele released his Preseason All-ACC Team this afternoon. Ten Hokies made the squad. Tech's headliners were Luther Maddy at DT, and Kendall Fuller at CB (obvious selections). Florida State dominated Steele's selections. Did anyone expect anything different? Does anyone have any grievances?

Corey Marshall: a team player and defensive weapon
In his recent interview with ESPN, spring defensive MVP, Corey Marshall describes himself as a defensive weapon. Corey sounds like he is in a good place right now. He is a team player who is willing to allow coach Wiles and coach Foster to take advantage of his talent wherever they see fit. He is up to 255 pounds and is hoping to get to 270 when season starts. With Luther Maddy, Dadi Nicolas, Corey Marshall, Ken Ekanem , and the best secondary in the nation, the Hokie defense could be really special this year.
What else will it take to bring the Virginia Tech Hokies to elite level?
SB Nation Preview of Ohio State
SB Nation's Bill Connelly has been writing previews for every FBS team and he just finished his Ohio State preview. Of course there's the mantra of "one game at a time" and there's less than 88 days until the season starts against William and Mary but I assume a lot of folks are excited about traveling to Columbus.

USA Today Write-up on QB transfers - Brewer
Nothing real substantial but anything football related about the Hokies I try to read:
The Hokies offense can't get much worse, and any outside help is a reason for optimism.

10 things to look forward to in 2014 college football season
Ivan Maisel wrote the following about the Hokies.
1. Virginia Tech wins 10 games
First, Frank Beamer, who leads all active FBS coaches with 266 career victories, turns 68 in October. With three very good seasons, Beamer could reach 300 wins at age 70 and get out and go to his vacation home at Lake Oconee in eastern Georgia and play golf with all the other coaches who have homes there while he can still turn on the ball. Second, given the money that head coaches make and the pressure they are under to succeed, I am skeptical that any coach from this generation will stay on the sideline long enough to win 300 games. Beamer may be the last candidate to join the club.

Logan Update - Mini-Camp
(I've been busy recently and haven't been able to keep up with TKP, so apologies if this was posted already. I don't see it in the tracker though.)
Cardinals blog has a nice update and video interview of Logan HERE
Seems like he is adjusting well and making some statements about what he can do. He still has a ways ahead of himself before starting on Sundays but it's nice to read these things:
Although caught might not quite be the right word, because the ball arrived with such force it almost seemed like it was going to stick in Oziers abdomen regardless.
Longest active streaks against one opponent?
Does anyone here know how to look up the longest active win streaks against one opponent in CFB (with the caveat that it's an uninterrupted series)? I know UF vs. Kentucky is at 27 years, I wanted to to see where the decade of dominance compares with some of the other active streaks out there.
Phil Steele has the Hokies at No. 29
Respected college football writer Phil Steele has the Hokies ranked number 29 in his preseason poll. Much like Athlon Sports, Steele has ranked the Hokies high in many of his preseason polls over the years. He also lists the projected starters with Brewer as the QB and Michael Branthover as the starting kicker. Really good read.
