Joel Caleb moving to DB?

EDIT: Looks like there is another #15 in maroon, and it most likely is Caleb. Joe you can delete the thread, my apologies!

In the latest video release on Twitter from @BeamerBall, it appears to show Joel Caleb in coverage trying to defend a pass against Sean Daniel, a walk-on. His jersey is white - which would appear to indicate a shift to defense. There are no other #15s on the roster.

Coach and player interviews on periscope

VT Football is on periscope and you can watch interviews with coaches and players. They have been doing this for most media/fan days.

Snapchat Day 10 Observations- McLaughlin Back at LT, Hansen in Blue, Teller still with the 2's

The Hokies practice is still on-going, and I believe Coach Searels will be available to the media this evening. VT Football is updating their snap chat. They have not gotten to live work yet (at least on snapchat), however the group work shows that Wade Hansen is back in at the number one right tackle spot. He is in blue, however is working through the semi-live full team repetitions. Jonathan McLaughlin is back at left tackle. Yosh Nijman is back as the number two left tackle, and Wyatt Teller is still at number 2 left guard.

Charley Wiles, Torrian Gray Discuss D-Line, DBs, Respectively After Scrimmage I

Virginia Tech's coaches weren't made available to the media after the Hokies' first open scrimmage of fall camp. However, they did speak with BeamerBall.com about what they saw on the field. Among the defensive coaches, I thought Charley Wiles and Torrian Gray provided the most interesting observations. Emphasis is my own.

Wiles:

2016 Senior Bowl Watch List

Alex tweeted out sometime yesterday that the Senior Bowl announced a Watch List for the 2016 Senior Bowl. The link did not work that was in his tweet. If I had to guess I would say definitely Maddy and Marshall, then probably Malleck, and maybe JC or Brewer? He mentioned that there were 4 Hokies on the watch list.

So Alex, can you elaborate on who you saw mentioned on the site or can we take any other educated guesses on who may be on the Watch List or who will ultimately make it? Thanks.

Teller Demoted? OL Shuffling? VT Football Practice Monday 8/17 Observations

Earlier today, Beamerball.com posted an article where the offensive coaching staff commented on observations they had during Saturday's scrimmage. One quote stood out from Coach Searels: " I came away from this scrimmage with three guys who I thought were solid and played winning football; Eric Gallo, Augie Conte and Parker Osterloh."

Jonathan McLaughlin and Wyatt Teller were noticeably absent from the discussion (good or bad.) I thought very little of it until I watched the pass protection and team vs team work from today's practice on VT Football Snap Chat.

Talent Comparison from 2015 to past VT Teams

I was thinking about how much our talent had fallen off and wanted to compare this team to previous years. 2009 is the last year I can think of that we were really good, and good enough to compete at the highest levels. (2010 to a lesser extent we didn't really have a good defense)

QB Tyrod vs Brewer I think it is obvious we take Tyrod

RB Edmunds/JC/McMillian/(Maybe Shai) vs Ryan Williams
This one is a little harder. Ryan obviously had one of the best seasons by a VT running back ever, but if I didn't know before the season that he would be healthy all year I might take our current group. (Wash)

How does everyone typically buy/sell tickets to Hokie games?

Over the past few years, I've either had games I've had to miss for a wedding or a game I'm bringing some extra friends to that leave me either looking to offload or pick up some tickets to home games.

Between the numerous methods of buying/selling tickets... was just wondering what everyone here usually does, and what their dream experience would be for finding extra tickets for gameday... or trying to sell them.

Thanks yall.

Charter Bus to OSU@VT from Charlotte

As I am sure most Hokie-rich areas are doing, the Charlotte alumni association is planning to charter a bus (details below) from Charlotte to Blacksburg on Sept 7 so that we can watch the Hokies dismantle OSU again.

The problem is that we are about 10 or so folks short for being able to justify the bus trip and need more people to sign up or the trip is going to be cancelled and we will have to fend for ourselves to get to the game.

If you are in Charlotte or a nearby area and have any desire to go back to Blacksburg for the game, please sign up and do so ASAP so the trip doesn't get cancelled.

My drunk ass thanks you all in advance for helping to secure safe transport back to the holy land.

Random OSU - VT game point-counterpoint from a Buckeye

Hello, fellow CFB fans. I've posted a few comments and have been graciously received here. Thanks! I'd like to welcome you to stop over at 11 Warriors, the best OSU fan site and one of the best sports sites on the web. I discovered The Key Play last year before the game and decided it was the best VT site out there (I also learned to not refer to you as V-Tech or that other permutation of your name. Lol). Please remember that we also have our idiot 5% on 11W, just like most sites, so you will get the homer predictions of OSU beating VT by 50. Don't let that segment of our fans bother you.

"Virginia Tech offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler seeks more balance in his life"

David Teel wrote an interesting column on offensive coordinator Scot Loeffer's attempt to find a better work-life balance this season: http://www.dailypress.com/sports/virginia-tech/dp-spt-teel-column-loeffl.... In particular, this stood out to me.

"We were too young last year," Loeffler said. "We were inexperienced at quarterback. We were still, similar to the first year, going, 'What are we? Who are we?' You're trying to paste things together to get positive yardage, and when you're doing that, you're going to be average as dirt.
